looking for any drill for around the house strong enough to drill the occasional hole in wood.
this a good bet? prefer brushless but this is only $45 and includes battery.

I'm sure it is strong enough, for for an every day around the house drill - my vote would be to hold off for a deal on the PCL206 - the Ryobi with the clutch/torque control. If I'm getting the drill to help assemble furniture or something like that, I like to be able to adjust the torque so I'm not tearing things up.

Agree - my 10 year old black and decker drill that cost me $20 has a clutch. This drill is a joke.
