JBL is a good company but these are TERRIBLE SPEAKERS. I own a set and they are abysmal. All the positive reviews out there are paid advertisements. I spent over 2 hours trying to equalize these to make them sound reasonably OK. I called JBL support for help and their candid response was these are made to be loud, not necessarily sound good.

I've been a fan of some JBL products, but your comment reminds me of why people would call them Junk But Loud
Spec sheet looks solid. Obviously haven't heard these but just based on technical specs i fail to see why these would suck. They seem they would be good for their application. Their LSR monitors are incredibly difficult to beat, especially for the price.

You can't really go by just the frequency response... Imagine a piano that still has the high notes and low notes, but random sets of notes are twice as loud or half as loud as the others.
And that's what ragged frequency response sounds like, even if it can technically still go down to 20 HZ and up to 20 khz.
