Have one of these, works well but seems overengineered. The battery suction is cute, but it's randomly vacuuming up and after a while the sound of that gets frustrating. The ones like this you simply twist on are preferred. It's a shame they didn't put the electronics on this into a MagSafe charging apparatus instead.

Wonder if it would work in a cab tractor bouncing around.

I have one as well. Yeah, it is a bit odd when the vacuum turns on, but it's not that often. And the point is that it does it when needed. So I'm ok with a bit of noise instead of a much louder noise when it and my phone would otherwise fall.
I'm a big fan of these. It will stay steady on a painted wall holding onto my heavy S23 Ultra. Impressive.

can you just turn off the pump and use it as a regular suction cup?

No, although if you just want one of the mechanical locking ones, there are plenty of cheap options.

probably still get it if it also including wireless charging, but overly complicated just for a mount IMO.

I appreciate a familiar brand coming down in price, but the angles seem limited on this one.
A quick search found a different brand for $8 that I might be willing to try, and it has a little more angle to it.

Maybe I'll keep looking for one that has 2 joints of movement. Confused

UPDATE:
Against my better judgement, I went with this $10 'generic' one with 2 joints. Wish me luck!

Keep us updated!Looking for one that is easy to move around, has multiple angles, doesn't have sticky mess and can mount to painted cabinets without peeling the paint off when removing.
