Not a fan of pay to shop schemes. Not a purchaser of large quantities. Often find lower prices on food elsewhere without the entrance fee.
People, do you not realize that they are trying to make you pay for things that used to be free (shopping, shipping (to store), TV, etc? Just say no.
My $49.99 Groupon oil change cost me almost 70 bucks. Read the fine print and call to confirm out the door price before buying. Often it's best to just find the lowest price vs coupons or rebates which may not happen.

Sorry, but don't agree. The gas savings of 10-15c a gallon at BJ's is a great perk, not to mention some excellent deals on discounted gift cards throughout the year. Now, to lay out $13.50 which I know I can easily save there versus elsewhere during the course of 12 months is worth it. Plus I have one very close to my house. Even if I buy 12 of their BBQ cooked chickens over the 12 months, I've made back my investment at $4.99 each which are $6-8 elsewhere and not as good IMO.

As with any automotive service, even if not a groupon, you should always read the fine print with a sales price to know what else you're on the hook for.

Not to mention the coupons and cash back at BJs make the membership pay for itself quickly. You can easily use the app to figure out what's worth getting there vs elsewhere.

I make my money back with BJ's and Sam's club within the first visit. I never pay full price for these I get them for like $10 $15 or less. There was one time where they had a special for $20 you get membership and you get $10 a month for 6 months Well for some reason I wind up getting $90 total I kept getting $10 credit month after month after month I didn't say anything to BJ's because why should I I'm honest but come on. The Greek yogurt I get for 60 cents when in his local store is like a $1.25 milk is cheaper half and half is cheaper The chickens are cheaper many other things are cheaper Even clothes which I was surprised I bought Skechers sneakers for $19 $29 work pants for $6 on clearance. My wife and I cook so just the bulk supplies like chai seeds pecans walnuts Quaker oats it more than pays for itself. You really have to have these memberships to find the best deals anywhere We don't exclusively shop at these places We shop everywhere and buy everything on sale never pay full price for anything that's why I'm here on Slickdeals

That's arguable. A lof of items like bread, dairy and eggs are consistently cheaper and its easier to not have to hunt through sales flyers and go to 5 different stores to get the same deals. Also in store pickup is a huge plus and time saver.

No. I have both BJ's and Costco membership, and Walmart and Market Basket around. Compare to all others, BJ's only has cheapest gas. Grocery is tiny bit cheaper than Market Basket, same as Walmart. Household goods are way more expensive than Amazon/target 50-15. Thanks to BJ's worst IT/App coupon system, sometimes you can find double dip or triple dip of coupon--that's the best deal ever. Again, it requires in store shopping/pick up in store.

I have both BJ's and Costco memberships. I pay $20 to renew my BJ's membership so it's a no brainer for gas alone. I like both both stores. They have different strengths. I buy gas at BJ's because the line at Costco is ridiculous. I buy meats between the two. I find BJ's has more selection on some items and more reasonably sized quantities. My BJ's has a deli counter. BJ's has some produce items and breads Costco doesn't carry. I buy clothes, motor oil, batteries, housewares, gifts and some food at Costco. They're both worth the price of admission. Besides, I like shopping at both stores.
