That said, I wouldn't call these unsafe, just more likely to split. I have some that have held up to casual vehicle work, but usually recommend home gamers to just grab a Harbor Freight chrome set (Quinn etc), which won't have the messy coating, and can be lifetime warrantied if you ever break one.
