Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

Has anyone tried trading in s26 Ultra for another s26 Ultra, possibly to get few hundred dollars in credit? It seems to work online. I tried imei1 of my ultra and got to the final checkout page with all the credits.

FYI - waiting to try at the store now... (since I paid $461 on top of my s25+ trade 19 days ago, which now sucks)

Would you kindly advise what was the value offered?

$705.00 trade-in credit/promotional value for Motorola MOTO G 5G 2025 -$699.99

$400 Off -$400.00
By The Gig $20.00 for 1st GB*

FYI, I freeze my credit so there's no way for them to put mine on installment option.
Do they normally pull your credit or do a credit inquiry with your SS# needed just for the line of service even if you are paying in full outright and are already an existing Internet customer?

You can have them put it back on the payment on file.

Do I need to use the phone on a spectrum service, or can I use it on Cricket Wireless?

I did this in store just now for S26 Ultra. Got the $1100 instant discount +$5 for my trade in of moto g stylus 2025.
Store rep was also surprised but it works and should choose pay in full option.
I paid $195 + $50tax in total
Is the phone unlocked? Verizon changed phones to unlock after a year vs the 60 days so not sure what Spectrum is doing because they are a reseller of Verizon.

Phones that are paid in full should be unlocked but I'd still be concerned about this.

Will this work on existing free spectrum line that I just started to use this month or do I need to get an extra new line?

So I messed up. I ordered online and did installment vs paid in full. If I pay the phone off now how will the credits work - seems to be conflicting stories.

My trade was $780 (700+80). Will the $780 be added as account credit that can then be added to my card. What about the $400 - would $1180 be credited or do I lose the $400?

My bill shows two credits a month. $11 for the $400 off and $21 for the trade. Ugh. I messed up a sweet deal

You may be already aware, but you cannot cover internet charges with your spectrum mobile credits.
Oh great. Well, we'll see how it goes in trying to request a refund for the $700 trade in credit once it posts then.

So if you are on the 1 year free promo for new customers, and you can't get the 700 promo refunded, you are now stuck with 4 years to recuperate the cost?
