Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

Can you port in a number?
You don't need to but yes. IMO, Spectrum has the best number flexibility. You can generate new number everyday and can port in to replace the current active number on the app. Haven't seen a provider offers this.

So if you are on the 1 year free promo for new customers, and you can't get the 700 promo refunded, you are now stuck with 4 years to recuperate the cost?
Well, I paid up front for my phone so it's a one time $700 credit. Not spread out over 36 months. I assume closing the account would also trigger a check for the remaining credit balance since it's not spread out if the device is paid in full.

Snagged an S26+ for ~$20 (tax). With the ~$30 moto g 5g that's $50 total. Bumped the S26 on my free line for this one. Planning to switch it back to the S26 and then unlock both in 60 days. Possible?

Has anyone did multiple lines for this promo? I already have 1 line, I'm considering adding 3 more lines for the promo.

Would you kindly advise what was the value offered?

I traded my 19 days old Spectrum S26 Ultra for another Ultra and got ~ $263 back in credits (not sure when or how I'll get it, I'll just have to wait a few days and see...) on my second line; and a new Moto Stylus 5G 2025 (Cricket) for S26+ and paid about $90 taxes included. No hassle, just had to wait in queue for half an hour, and was done with the 2 trades in 15 minutes.

I'll go back to trade this new S26+ for an Ultra in a few days which hopefully should get me back about $160 in excess credits.

I was told by the employee that this excess credit can only be used to pay for mobile line services and cannot be used to pay for any part of device or internet payment, which sucks. But hopefully the credit should reflect in my account in a few days, and once there, I'll chat/call to request credit transfer back to my credit card as a refund. My promo rate on the service with 1 free line is expiring in 2 months, by then the price will soar for my account. I'll have to call retentions, but it's not guaranteed that they will extend my current promo, and if not, I may have to cancel the entire service. So if possible, getting the excess credit refunded to my credit card would be great.

Honestly no idea lol. It just automatically did it all for me. Shows I owe $25 a month for the line + phone. And that's before the credit. I did have to pay $107 in tax

For some reason I can't upload a picture of invoice

Device Payment: $36.11
Device Payment Promotion (-$11.11)
Total Device Payment $25 (not including credit for trade in)

Plan Unlimited $40
12-Month Plan Discount (-$40 / month)

One Time Activation Charge $20
Activation Charge Discount (-$20)

Trade In Pixel 8 Pro
Trade In Value $80 + Spectrum Promo $700

Due Today $132.25
Tax $107.25
Monthly Charge $25 (as trade in credit hasnt applied yet | 2-3 months)

After trade credits kick-in I will owe about $3.34/month for the phone ($25 phone fee - $21.66 trade-in credit)
So for 1-year I owe about $3.34 a month for the phone and line. After that it will be about $43.34 for 2 years ($3.34 phone + $40 line)
I am very happy with this deal.
Did you buy it online or in store to get the activation charge waived?

I did this in store just now for S26 Ultra. Got the $1100 instant discount +$5 for my trade in of moto g stylus 2025.
Store rep was also surprised but it works and should choose pay in full option.
I paid $195 + $50tax in total
Did they waive the activation fee at the store?

Does my trade in device have to be on the list? I have an old
Oneplus lying around. Otherwise I'd have to go buy another phone

Edit- Oh, I have Moto G 2024 64GB and went to spectrum last week but they denied it. It was purchased on QVC(Tracfone unlocked already). So wondering what did you purchase and how did you get through

Anyone purchase the internet service at the same time as phone? We currently have Frontier but can easily switch to Spectrum. I have done the switch every 2 yrs to keep the internet cheap. I really don't want the internet set up until Mid May but ok with phone set up right away. Just wondering how they would do that or if I would have to wait which would be fine too.

In store works well. I did it for the regular s26 a few weeks ago. This is a better deal especially if you wanted the + or ultra. Waiting for another iphone deal.
Anyone have any issues with doing too many trade ins with spectrum? I've done 2 so far on 1 line each with cheapo walmart phones.
Can you please share the walmart links? I see someone shared the straight talk locked phones but not sure whether they work for Trade-in
