This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.
I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.
Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.
In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)
On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.
So all in was $59.92.

What is the cheapest way I can do internet with Spectrum to get this deal for the S26+ for a backup phone?
Device Payment Plan - Paid in Full $1,099.99
$705.00 trade-in credit/promotional value for Motorola MOTO G 5G 2025 -$699.99
$400 Off -$400.00
By The Gig $20.00 for 1st GB*

I knew store rep from earlier as I activated my internet just 2 weeks back. I told him to give it a try and he was helpful and voila IT WORKED and he was also as happy as me!!!
here's a solution. go to another store. dont ask any questions. just say you want s26+ or ultra on a new line ($20 is the cheapest). pay in full. the system will take care of everything. no need to ask them about the $400 discount.
My trade was $780 (700+80). Will the $780 be added as account credit that can then be added to my card. What about the $400 - would $1180 be credited or do I lose the $400?
My bill shows two credits a month. $11 for the $400 off and $21 for the trade. Ugh. I messed up a sweet deal
[Spectrum] Hi, you're connected with Brooke
[Spectrum] Hello! Thank you so much for reaching out to Spectrum today! My name is Brooke with Spectrum here in Ohio, and it's truly my pleasure to assist with your account needs. May I kindly confirm that your name is Michael, and that you're reaching out today regarding credits?
[Me] Hello Brooke! I have a question. I purchased a new phone and line yesterday. As part of the order I received $400 off and $780 trade. The $400 off was applied as an $11 monthly credit and the trade will be applied as a roughly $23 monthly credit once it processes.
I actually meant to pay the phone in full instead of payments when I made the order. If I go ahead any pay the phone off now in full how will those credits work / be applied?
[Spectrum] Thank you very much for this information. The credits would be applied to your account and provide you with a credit balance if you pay off the device early.
[Me] Thank you - would that apply to all the credits $400 + $780, so a total of $1180 in credits?
Would that stay on the account or can it be applied to my credit card. Reason I ask, is I have a line for free for a year. So it will take me years to use $1180 in credits even when my phone line bill goes to $40/month
[Spectrum] I understand. You would need to wait until the credit balance appears on your account. Which can take up to 7 days to be applied after your phone is paid off. Once the credit balance appears, you can request for a refund to be issued to you.
[Spectrum] I'm available and happy to help if you still need assistance.
[Me] Ok that is great news. I really appreciate it! So just to recap and confirm. With the purchase of the phone, which I did in installments. I receive a $400 credit for the sale and a $780 credit for the trade in promotion = $1180 in credits. I am able to pay the phone off now so that it is paid off and I owe nothing. Then those $1180 in credits would post to my account. When they do, I can request a refund to me (which can go on my CC) Is that correct?
[Spectrum] Great question. That is correct. Please let me know what other questions you may have, and I'll gladly assist.
[Me] That is everything! I greatly appreciate your assistance

The rep seemed a little confused at first, but I told her that I had to select "Other" for carrier online and it worked. Once she did that it went through just fine.
