Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

Is the Ultra worth $200 more than the Plus ?
Maybe if you really use the pen daily. Otherwise in my opinion it's a waste of money.

I've got an old Pixel 3XL laying around, looks like it's not on the online trade-in list but the 3a/3aXL are, would the store be able to take it?

I believe they only take the phones that you can see online.

I have FiOS internet now, but did a similar deal on the S25 last year when I was with spectrum. Paid in full in the store during trade in and got my s25 for like 120$.

What is the cheapest way I can do internet with Spectrum to get this deal for the S26+ for a backup phone?

400 credit is instant. You pay about 100$ in taxes. Thats a great deal.
Just tried it in a store. After checking my account, they said it has to be 36 months. (I did get an S26 with $700.00 discount a few weeks ago, paying in full.)

I got one. S26+ 256G
Device Payment Plan - Paid in Full $1,099.99
$705.00 trade-in credit/promotional value for Motorola MOTO G 5G 2025 -$699.99

$400 Off -$400.00
By The Gig $20.00 for 1st GB*
(Each Additional GB $5.00)
One-Time Activation Charge $20.00

State And Local Sales Tax $115.50
California E-Waste Recycling Fee $4.00
New Order Subtotal $14.99

Grand Total $134.49

So, 1099.99-705 -400+20 activation+115.50 CA Tax+4 e-wasting = 134.49
I walked it and they insisted it has to be 36 months...

I did EXACTLY that and the manager refused even after I showed the website on my phone. The first associate also said I couldn't do a trade-in on my existing line and must be a new line. Will try again tomorrow.
I even told them I wanted to open a new line. But after checking my account, they said the only way I could get $700+$400 discount is to go with 36 months. Perhaps it is because I just got another S26 recently?

At my store also they did not believe it and they printed deal on paper with promotional credit as spread across 36 months.
I knew store rep from earlier as I activated my internet just 2 weeks back. I told him to give it a try and he was helpful and voila IT WORKED and he was also as happy as me!!!
Should I go back to the store and told them to give it a try? I also knew store rep, since I got an S26 from her three weeks ago, paying in full.

here's a solution. go to another store. dont ask any questions. just say you want s26+ or ultra on a new line ($20 is the cheapest). pay in full. the system will take care of everything. no need to ask them about the $400 discount.

So I messed up. I ordered online and did installment vs paid in full. If I pay the phone off now how will the credits work - seems to be conflicting stories.

My trade was $780 (700+80). Will the $780 be added as account credit that can then be added to my card. What about the $400 - would $1180 be credited or do I lose the $400?

My bill shows two credits a month. $11 for the $400 off and $21 for the trade. Ugh. I messed up a sweet deal
I spoke with Spectrum via chat on their website. Here is what they said - looks like I can pay off, have all credits posted to account, then ask for refund. Still scared it wont work.

[Spectrum] Hi, you're connected with Brooke
[Spectrum] Hello! Thank you so much for reaching out to Spectrum today! My name is Brooke with Spectrum here in Ohio, and it's truly my pleasure to assist with your account needs. May I kindly confirm that your name is Michael, and that you're reaching out today regarding credits?
[Me] Hello Brooke! I have a question. I purchased a new phone and line yesterday. As part of the order I received $400 off and $780 trade. The $400 off was applied as an $11 monthly credit and the trade will be applied as a roughly $23 monthly credit once it processes.
I actually meant to pay the phone in full instead of payments when I made the order. If I go ahead any pay the phone off now in full how will those credits work / be applied?
[Spectrum] Thank you very much for this information. The credits would be applied to your account and provide you with a credit balance if you pay off the device early.
[Me] Thank you - would that apply to all the credits $400 + $780, so a total of $1180 in credits?
Would that stay on the account or can it be applied to my credit card. Reason I ask, is I have a line for free for a year. So it will take me years to use $1180 in credits even when my phone line bill goes to $40/month Smilie
[Spectrum] I understand. You would need to wait until the credit balance appears on your account. Which can take up to 7 days to be applied after your phone is paid off. Once the credit balance appears, you can request for a refund to be issued to you.
[Spectrum] I'm available and happy to help if you still need assistance.
[Me] Ok that is great news. I really appreciate it! So just to recap and confirm. With the purchase of the phone, which I did in installments. I receive a $400 credit for the sale and a $780 credit for the trade in promotion = $1180 in credits. I am able to pay the phone off now so that it is paid off and I owe nothing. Then those $1180 in credits would post to my account. When they do, I can request a refund to me (which can go on my CC) Is that correct?
[Spectrum] Great question. That is correct. Please let me know what other questions you may have, and I'll gladly assist.
[Me] That is everything! I greatly appreciate your assistance Smilie

Sure, I purchased this one:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/14552506783

The rep seemed a little confused at first, but I told her that I had to select "Other" for carrier online and it worked. Once she did that it went through just fine.
Finally was able to trade my Moto G 2025 64 GB today. My previous post I mentioned 2024 confused between Moto G power 2024 and Moto G 2025 that I have with me. Anyways, able to trade it. Thanks Josh for your post, without your post I was thinking all the devices I have are not qualified and I almost ignored this promotion. The store specialist(s) almost made a little mess and asking me to pay $766. Later they fixed it but my Moto G 2025 64GB has to settle with $1.
Due today for S26+ -
List Price - $1099.99
Promotion - $1100(400+700)
Trade-In - $1 (Moto G 2025 64 GB, not $5 because of mess up as it was showing upfront)
Tax - $66
Total paid - $64.99.

I think the reason its $1 is the due to the $400 discount. My moto g stylus 2023 is supposed to be $5 but I only got $1. My tax should be $0 but charged $35.
