Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

did u do in-store or online? Is moto g stylus 2022(broken) eligible? Also did you do each line by one or all at once. How does it work?
in-store. 2 phones on 2 lines at the same store, same time. Those lines previously had 2 S26 trades. It'd be pretty dumb to do in online if you have a store nearby. Not sure about broken phones in store, haven't asked. you could try and post here.

Should I go back to the store and told them to give it a try? I also knew store rep, since I got an S26 from her three weeks ago, paying in full.
Definitely.

Is the phone unlocked? Verizon changed phones to unlock after a year vs the 60 days so not sure what Spectrum is doing because they are a reseller of Verizon.

Phones that are paid in full should be unlocked but I'd still be concerned about this.
Nope. it will unlock after 60 days of service.

How many times can you do this? I was able to do 3 in store but when they tried to get the 4th phone from the back they couldn't do it.

Ultimately, it seems this deal is only for those interested in staying for 3 years so they get the full $400 credit, right? Otherwise it seems it's the same deal as the pre-order, i.e. $700 trade in...?
Unfortunately, that was experience. Looks like others have luck. Can someone please shed some light on the $400 credit stuff?

I went to a store and tried to trade the ultra I bought yesterday for a new ultra on the same line. Had used that line before to get an s26 so that may be the problem. They went through all the information. Scanned the new phone, put in the imei of the old phone and it said I had to have the phone for two months and have it unlocked before I can use it for a trade in. May try a different store but they really did try,

Is there a way of checking inventory at the stores? I looked up the phone number of the store near me and I ended up talking to someone in another state and she tried to do my order over the phone.

Sitting at specrum waiting now after hours...........tick tock tick tock.... Lol
So the store closed at 8. At 8:30 I found out they had no plus or ultras in stock. Said they get in 4 or 5 of each FedEx'd every a day only and said come in at 10 when they open for first pick of the day. Good news was he was familiar with the deal and willing to work with me on 2 phones. I could have paid in store got the phones Friday delivered then come back In for the trade in and $1400 credited back for the two.
So it might be best to go on in the morning.

The account is registered under my aunt's name. Since I used my own credit card to make the payment, I need to upload my aunt's ID for verification. Could you please tell me approximately how long this verification process takes?

I think the reason its $1 is the due to the $400 discount. My moto g stylus 2023 is supposed to be $5 but I only got $1. My tax should be $0 but charged $35.
no, for me they first said $5 and then changed it $1. My phone is 4 months old and rarely used. How come the tax should be $0 for you? They charged me 6% on $1099.99

You can check online what they offer for a phone with a broken screen etc. I have access to cracked screen moto 5g 2025. Value $3 since it works and that is the only damage. It needs to have a value of at least $1 to qualify. If it comes up at $0 then get a $30 Walmart moto 5g.
Trade in can be found under "other" carrier then select Motorola and find the moto 5g 2025 it will have the option for 64gb..

Spectrum switching their tax policy.

Previous time they charged tax on price after promo (before trade-in) and now they want to tax the full amt.

Well, I paid up front for my phone so it's a one time $700 credit. Not spread out over 36 months. I assume closing the account would also trigger a check for the remaining credit balance since it's not spread out if the device is paid in full.
I inquired with online customer support, and they confirmed that the $700 trade-in credit is deposited as a one-time lump sum.
