Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

Am I missing something? I looked at the terms for the $700 and I don't see any specific terms on the website nor did I get anything when I purchased in store. Before I saw--unlocked, 128 GB but I can't find it on the website. Did they remove it or am I just missing it somewhere?
Did they charge you sales tax based on full price at the the store or based net price after discount and trade-in credit?

It definitely wasn't on the full price but I have no idea how they figured it. I paid in full so and it was put on a free line so their was no activation fee, no monthly fee, and taxes were 32.59. It says taxes are based on the full amount of your devices but I can't figure out how it was figured. The extra $5 credit reduced taxes to 27.58.

The other 2 I purchased were on the same receipt and I had to pay $20 ea for activation and $20 for monthly service. Taxes on the purchase was was 65.18. The total bill was $135.16
Per line
$40.00 (activation and monthly service)
(5.00) credit for trade-in
(.01) clueless on this
32.59 taxes

Taxes varies on where u live

Now my question is---are there taxes on top of the $20 monthly fee for 1GB or are they included in the fee already. I hate to say it but I think there will be taxes on it Frown. Phone taxes are the pits and expensive in TX

When I try the order online it shows all the promos and got to the checkout page where it asked me to put in my shipping and billing address. Did not put in information to place the final order. Did you get to the check out page and fill out the information and then hit a grey place order button? Thanks
I did put everything and yes, clicking the greyed out button doesn't work lolWith that said, I think it's an issue with my account because right now I cannot buy any phone online at all, going to call them tomorrow and see what's up

For the mobile plans, taxes and fees are included in the plan prices. "No contracts, added taxes or hidden fees."

My excess credit of $263.76 from Ultra to S26+ trade just now posted to my credit card account as a refund. I had submitted refund request via chat and Spectrum called me the next morning to confirm. Took 3 days altogether.

When I got my first ultra, I had to pay $461 on top of my s25+, this refund makes it so much better but still not as good as current ultra deal.
Thanks for all the posts, very informative . In your original post you said you traded an Ultra for an Ultra. This says an Ultra for a s26+. Curious to know which. Thanks again

I mailed my trade in today via USPS. We'll see how the trade in process goes, crossing my fingers.

Oops, my bad. This was ultra for ultra. Sorry. Ultra for s26+ would have gotten me $480 back, but I wanted at least 1 Ultra for myself.

I'll see if I can fix that typo on my previous comment. Thanks for catching it πŸ˜…πŸ™

Sorry that was ultra for ultra, not s26+, which would have gotten me $480 back.

Ultra for ultra on the second line or on the same line? If on a second line then did you open a new one or you traded on the existing second line?

Is there a possibility of putting my tracfone Sim card in this dual sim phone? Not sure if it will work in a locked phone and right now they set up the phone and are using a Spectrum Sim card. If this would work then it would be a place holder to retain my tracfone plan and I could trade in my Tracfone phone. I do need to make sure this phone gets unlocked.

The phone activates with eSIM but the pSIM (physical) slot is locked too. It won't work with your TracFone SIM until it's unlocked.
