Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

I just came from the store where the system denied at the last step of trade-in for S26 Ultra. It said fraud and displayed the previous 4 trade-ins. I believe it is the same reason they denied me last year too after 4 in-store trade-ins. How many in-store trade-in that you succeed this trade-in deal? Normally the system rejected after 4 trade-in in-store. For this year I already did 5 trade-in in-store.
I did only 2 in that case, one is on April 15, and second today. I never traded-in phones before this with spectrum. Probably with the high demand they suddenly capped it to 2. I just spoke to the CS and they confirmed 2 trade-ins per account now.

2 per account for how long? I just opened up 2 lines today both with trade ins and with new home internet but need a 3rd line for my son. The 3rd line/trade in would not go thru, manager told me to come back in a few hours and it should work. Said fraud protection, I'm brand new to Spectrum. But he said they could order the phone for me, I should have asked if they could process the trade in in store still but order the phone for delivery??

I also got hit with fraud today trying to get a third phone. If the phone is ordered they can't process the trade in store. You have to ship the trade in phone and wait for the $700 credit. You also pay more tax because you don't get the credit instantly.

You were able to do 5x in store trade-ins using one line?
Nope, 2 S26 and each on new line, 1 S26 Ultra on a new line, 1 S26 Ultra on the previous new line that shared with S26, 1 S26 on my free line. Total 5 phones in-store traded-in successfully using 3 lines.

What did you do? I guess I will go back and try again tomorrow since I legit need a 3rd line and the manager forgot to waive the $65 Internet install fee on my home internet order, ugh. Wish they would have printed receipts for me, was already there for over 2 hours today.

I just went through with the order its still a good deal with the extra tax. The salesman told me it takes 30 days to reset the fraud counter not sure how true that is.

So the new rule for capping at 2 per account in-store trade-ins is true. No wonder I got denied at the last step of submitting order and the system said fraud protection. This is only for in-store traded-in, you shouldn't have the problem if do it online.

They might say they can, but they cannot. I just went through this a month ago on the S26 Ultra pre-order. If the phone is sent via mail the trade-in must be processed by mail.

Booked Appt for 10:30am...reached store at 10:10am.
just coupe of customers there. Before i could check in the kiosk, rep called me as she was free.
Asked for S26+ and/or ultra. She said, we dont have any and usually get shipments on Tuesdays. Thought they restocked everyday?
(not sure if she was lying or employees had kept them aside for friends and family...but didnt feel quite right)

Your last chance at the $700 is tomorrow. I'd try again. If no luck then I'd consider the online option.

I called and talked to Spectrum yesterday and they couldn't see any fraud on my account and said for some reason the payment on my previous purchase never went through and was in pending and has since cleared so it should be fine today. I also did an order under another account using my credit card and they linked the accounts together which I'm authorized user on the other account. Tried the other account and the order would NOT go through today.
Only way for me to get another phone is online. I purchased 4 phones on one account (which was new internet and new phone) and 1 on the other account which was more established by a few months but no phones on it. Both are online orders only for now.
I do not see a way around it--the fraud team could not find any reason an in-store order shouldn't go through.

So my guess is once you've hit this stage internet is the only way to get another phone.

My question is--does it make a difference if we pay in full or installments. Interesting they said they needed to do a credit check for me if I did installments but in store it's showing me having like 59K available for phones. I'd rather not pay upfront unless it is a savings on taxes as long as we can go in and pay for the phone once the 60 days unlock is getting close. At least then we'd have our $700 trade in back.

I also just received a $400 credit on my account for purchasing a S26 Ultra and being a new internet subscriber. It pro-rated over 36 months so I'm hoping I can get that back. Looks like it can only be used on phone service. We will see but it will help pay the $20 monthly cost slowwwwwwly.
The tax situation depends on your state, in my state if you pay in full you only get taxed on the price after trade in ($700+ trade in value). The $400 discount still gets taxed for some reason. The store employee put me on an installment plan on one of the phones I purchased and I was charged tax on the full price. I went home and paid it off and they didn't refund the tax so I had to call again and put in a ticket request for a refund.

looks like it is a new rule as per the CS rep. I will try tomorrow again, if this comment works https://slickdeals.net/f/19418556-spectrum-internet-customers-256gb-samsung-galaxy-s26-free-w-eligible-trade-in-new-line-free-s-h?p=183768960#post183768960, then rep is wrong. I do not read such terms anywhere. Just got off the another call with solution specialist and he said try it in 2-3 days. I told the promotion ends tomorrow and he suggested me to try tomorrow then. I believe it may work tomorrow.
