Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

I did get hit with the $20 activation fee on the $30 plan in-store a couple of days ago (paid in full Ultra). I just noticed now. Wonder if I asked chat, they might credit it back? Feels a bit ticky tacky at this point though I suppose.
I got charged on the 40 plan even...

Got 2 phones n store and got charged 97 for each.
The split they said is 40$ plan but they didn't budge and 20 activation and 37 tax.. asked paid in full option.
Can anyone confirm if i did correctly and how can I reduce the 40 to 20 immediately.. @okhello
Also I didn't activate phone in store.. does it void the promotion
by chat or go back in. Not sure why you signed up for the $40 plan unless you needed it. All of mine were the 1 GB and $20 plan. That's all I would ever need anyways. No you can activate phone at home. You already got the promotion. It's done when you pay for phones and trade in the store.

The reps said these are last ones and they do know it's walmart and accepted broken phones and I have to accept the 40$ .. i tried negotiating for the 20 or 30$ but they said no. May be they want to earn the commission.. so did you pay activation fee for each line? Anyway I can downgrade immediately and do for activation fees

I don't know what it's called but it was for people that signed up for internet and added a phone possibly the 26 Ultra---had nothing to do if I owed $$$ however they did tell me that the phone should have been on payment plan so maybe that's what they are talking about. Buy another phone on payment plan and then it should work. Had nothing to do with owing $$$ to another carrier either. I didn't port my # tracfone # lol. can't owe $$$ to tracfone. Maybe the manager misunderstood the credit or your person misunderstands it but I got it on my account and I don't know where to see the full $400 credit on line. I see the monthly credit--
Thank you, I appreciate it. They couldn't help me with the $400 credit.
I am kind of already done with Spectrum as a new customer.
Couldn't even get the internet changed to the 1G and the $65 install credit that was supposed to be applied yesterday. .
3rd phone line/trade in was again blocked today even though I was preapproved for $7k credit line, now I am debating about ordering online but it looks like i have to pay the $700+ tax and wait for the trade in to be processed for the $700 credit to apply. I guess as long as the trade in gets processed in the 14 day return window I'm ok. But already Spectrum seems difficult to deal with. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Got a low IQ rep today who didn't even bother checking their inventory, just gave me some excuse saying they're not allowed to let customers walkout with S26+'s because of some bs fraud investigation (must be shipped), while I can see her co-worker trying to trade in her own fone for an s26+.

I want to order a phone from Amazon to trade in. Today is the last day of the promotion. Can I input any IMEI number of the phone? Will they deny my trade in if the IMEI of the phone doesn't match with the IMEI I input?

Did you pay the $40 per line plus activation fee?

I paid $20 per line and $20 activation fee so it would be the same as $40 and no activation fee. If you didn't pay activation fee then wait and change your phones for the $20 plan next month. They can't force you to stay on the $40 plan. you could also try going through chat to get it changed--I'm new to Spectrum phone deals so someone else that has had spectrum for phone service can chime in.

I wouldn't even bother trying to do this stuff online, just go in the store. Also, I did multiple trades on the same line, no need for new line activations. Now unlocking is another story which I haven't figured out yet.

"was preapproved for $7k credit line".
Is this a thing? Spectrum actually have a number on how much you are approved for like a credit card?

Spectrum is full of a bunch of clowns in a circus and they're all scumbags. Ive been on the phone for hours over the past 3 days after placing a simple order for two phones with my existing internet service that I paid in full for and got all the bullshit about uploading ID and verifying and speaking to fraud department and false promises only for it to be canceled. And I had to reorder again and got the same bullshit and after being promised I receive a shipping confirmation email the next day instead I received the same bullshit order canceled for credit concern. What the fark are they talking about?!!!! I called up so pissed off and and I'm canceling everything now because they're incompetent and ridiculous.
that's good. cancel it all. they do not deserve your internet business.

That is what the rep told me instore after he ran my credit. Silly I could only open 2 mobile lines and get 2 phones via trade in. What are families supposed to do? Oh well, rolling the dice and added another line and ordered S26+ online with trade in. Already got the ID verification needed text and uploaded my license, waiting on the next steps. I'll probably wake up to a cancellation, and the deal will be over.
