This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.
I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.
Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.
In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)
On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.
So all in was $59.92.

The split they said is 40$ plan but they didn't budge and 20 activation and 37 tax.. asked paid in full option.
Can anyone confirm if i did correctly and how can I reduce the 40 to 20 immediately.. @okhello
Also I didn't activate phone in store.. does it void the promotion
by chat or go back in. Not sure why you signed up for the $40 plan unless you needed it. All of mine were the 1 GB and $20 plan. That's all I would ever need anyways. No you can activate phone at home. You already got the promotion. It's done when you pay for phones and trade in the store.
I am kind of already done with Spectrum as a new customer.
Couldn't even get the internet changed to the 1G and the $65 install credit that was supposed to be applied yesterday. .
3rd phone line/trade in was again blocked today even though I was preapproved for $7k credit line, now I am debating about ordering online but it looks like i have to pay the $700+ tax and wait for the trade in to be processed for the $700 credit to apply. I guess as long as the trade in gets processed in the 14 day return window I'm ok. But already Spectrum seems difficult to deal with.

I paid $20 per line and $20 activation fee so it would be the same as $40 and no activation fee. If you didn't pay activation fee then wait and change your phones for the $20 plan next month. They can't force you to stay on the $40 plan. you could also try going through chat to get it changed--I'm new to Spectrum phone deals so someone else that has had spectrum for phone service can chime in.

Is this a thing? Spectrum actually have a number on how much you are approved for like a credit card?
It is definitely for NEW internet customers and it was applied in-store however I signed up for internet online and he said it's for new internet people that signed up in the past 30 days.
