That is what the rep told me instore after he ran my credit. Silly I could only open 2 mobile lines and get 2 phones via trade in. What are families supposed to do? Oh well, rolling the dice and added another line and ordered S26+ online with trade in. Already got the ID verification needed text and uploaded my license, waiting on the next steps. I'll probably wake up to a cancellation, and the deal will be over.
Was the id verification a text message or email? I never received this and my order from yesterday is stuck in placed status.

I want to order a phone from Amazon to trade in. Today is the last day of the promotion. Can I input any IMEI number of the phone? Will they deny my trade in if the IMEI of the phone doesn't match with the IMEI I input?
Just go to a local Walmart and get the Straight Talk Moto G 2025 for $29.99. If it's not in stock at your nearest store, try other stores close by. Several stores by me had them in stock for immediate pickup.

I received an email early this morning saying "Your order is canceled due to credit concerns" for the order I placed last Saturday. So I placed a new order again this morning, and shortly after that I got an email asking me to complete ID verification, which I submitted.
It's been about 6 hours now and I haven't received any updates. If it ends up getting canceled again, I guess I'll just use the Moto G 5G I already purchased next time.
For reference, I've successfully completed one purchase in-store and one online before, and this canceled one was my third attempt.

Both text and email to verify id. Order still shows order placed, no further emails or updates.

Did you get an ID verify text/email last Sat for that order? Strange it would take 4 days to cancel, the phone is supposed to ship same day. Good luck on today's order, last chance for all of us.

Just got my second online order. No issues. This will be my last order but I'm glad at least it was delivered after hearing about everyone else's trouble!

What day did you order? Did you have to do any additional verification?

I checked my email, I did it on Saturday evening but with the time difference it said Sunday. No additional verification. I've had the free mobile line for about 9 months now and added another $20 "by the gig" line to get the second S26+

Signed up Spectrum internet at end of March, with 1 free mobile line. Plan here is to do the trade-in on existing line and a newly added line.

Bought two of the $30 Moto G 5G phones at Walmart. Turned them on, skipped through setup without entering any info or connecting to a network, and reached the home screen.

Went into Spectrum store. S26+ sold out as expected. Rep said he could do ship to home with provisional trade-in approval, more or less the same process as ordering online (ship trade-in devices, get $700 credits). However, he was insisting he couldn't select "pay in full" because of not having the new devices on hand. I asked about the $400 discount being split over 36 months, and whether it comes off when you pay in full w/ the $700 credit, since IIRC that was an issue for at least one person in this thread. Or am I mistaken?

Anyway, the rep couldn't answer my straightforward questions convincingly and started to become pushy and rude. I thanked him for his time, brought everything home, and did the two separate orders within 10 minutes. Better to see everything done properly myself vs trusting the word of a guy who couldn't answer a simple math question. It sucks to pay the tax on the full $1,100 vs getting the trade-in discount instantly, but this is still is a great deal.

1.5 hours after placing the orders I haven't received any ID verification or other type of text or email. Hopefully neither order gets canceled.

why you thanked him? that makes him think his rude behavior is not only acceptable, but is great behavior.

Even if they select an installment plan in-store, you can pay off the balance immediately and contact customer service to have the credit refunded. This is still better than placing an online order if the cost is the same, and it is less stressful since online trade-in inspections can take more than 14 days.

if you are in TX or any state that only charge sales tax on the after discount/tradein amount, and you got charged tax on the full retail price, you should file a claim AND a complaint with the state's comptroller.
this is regardless of whether you did it in store or mail in your trade in. if you mailed in the trade-in, you should get the taxes credited.
no need to waste time with useless spectrum agents.
These mobile companies have been defrauding customers for too long. Just imagine, you overpaid $100 of taxes per device, multiply that by how many they sold, they are pocketing tens of millions or more.

No, there was no ID verification for the order placed on Saturday. Since I still haven't received the Mobile Order Details email, it looks like it might get canceled again. Good luck.

It looks like the $700 off trade-in promotion has ended. It's now been changed to $200 off with trade-in.
