Just wanted to add a data point.

This worked for me today in Texas for an S26+.

I went to Walmart and bought the Moto G 2025 64gb, turned it on and got to the home screen, went to spectrum and traded it in.

Spectrum had to select "Other" for carrier and I got the $400 off plus $705 for the trade in. It seems like taxes were on the price of the phone minus the trade in value, so taxed on $395 at 8.25% taxes were $32.58.

In total I paid $27.57 to Spectrum (1100-400-705=-5 +32.58 tax)

On top of that I paid Walmart $32.35.

So all in was $59.92.

It's instant in the spectrum stores. Online it takes a few weeks.

I think this is one of the cheapest, easiest to purchase phone that qualifies for $705.

Here is my timeline for 4/21. Did 2 trade ins, paid in full at the store on 4/20 but was locked out of opening a 3rd line/trade in. New internet and new mobile account.

4/21 2:32pm: Placed order for new line & trade in
4/21 2:43pm: Text/Email for ID verify
4/22: no emails or updates, Order shows
Shipment 1 of 0 : Order Confirmed
No charges on the CC
In the same situation, you could try calling the phone number on the verification email. I suspect that most likely the order will be cancelled by tomorrow.

Did this phone sell very poorly or something? The phone is only a month old and they're giving it away. Crazy.

I just bought one for my son. Spectrum is also offering an added line for free for the first 12 months. Nice bonus there!

You can get another year free after the 1st year free expires. I am on the second year free now. There is a way to get this 2nd year free.

I've been watching SlickDeals for over 20 years. This was one of the GOAT deals. RIP.
They can't possibly repeat 700 + 400 next year, can they?

You guys mean you got another year (or two) of the free mobile line? Would love to know how you did that.

Did you call retention and ask to cancel? Or is there a super secret trick? :p

In the last month of my 1st year free, I ported out my number to US Mobile and US Mobile also gave me free for the 1st month. After I verified that my number or line was no longer in my Spectrum account anymore, I then clicked on the link that offered a free line in my Spectrum account and I went through the checkout process to get a free unlimited line for 1 year again with the new number. Then a few days later I contacted spectrum customer service to port in my old number from US Mobile to replace the new number on that free line at Spectrum. That was it. You can port-in your number too during the checkout process of getting a free line.

Oh haha that makes sense. I thought you two were alluding to some kind of hack or trick, like placing an order, moving devices or promos between lines, etc. to get another free year without interrupting service on that mobile line.

Did you continuously have internet or tv service while you ported out, waited a month or so, then got the 1 year free offer again?

Of course Internet service with Spectrum must be continued and can't be cut while getting this free line again. I only waited about 1 day after I initiated the port-out process to US Mobile and I believed the transfer worked instantly. After 1 day, I logged back into my Spectrum account to make sure No line exists in my account, then I proceeded to get the free line again with a new number temporarily. The reason why I got the new number temporarily was because I wanted to be safe since the port-out process happened so quickly and I didn't want to lose that old 20 years number with a lot of contacts.

4/22 2:07pm: We have tried to contact you about your order, number XXX, from April 21. Since we have not heard back from you, your order has been canceled.

They never tried to contact me, I uploaded my DL yesterday. I guess the new limit was 2 per week or something. Happy to get an Ultra & + but moving over my internet service has been a struggle so far, will see how long I stay with them since my local Frontier service is $10 cheaper per month. Thank you to all in the group for all the help, still have with 2 wins! Retiring my Note9 in 60 days Smilie
