Rep told me today that "Trade-in promotional credits are applied as account credit. These credits cannot be manually refunded or transferred to the original payment method. Only regular credits (non-promotional) may be refunded to the card on file if applicable. The trade in promotional credits, cannot be transferred to your payment method. There is not an option in the system to do that."
Is that true ? Anybody got the credits to their Credit Card/original payment method ?

No, Spectrum got all our credit promotions and the values are approximately $1000000000000000000. Come on dude, that is not correct. If that agent told you that, 🖕that agent, try a different agent. I have called or chatted many times to request the account credit go back to my credit card and all of them were knowledgeable of what I was requesting and they created a ticket; then the offline folks resolved the ticket by refunding the account credit to my credit card. I just got credit back to my credit card yesterday after requesting last Friday. Normally it took only a few days to get that credit to my credit card. One time it took more than a week because the rep created the wrong type of ticket; so they fixed that issue by creating the right type of ticket. I am going to request another account credit to my credit card soon and it will be my last for this year trade-in.

No, that is not correct. Worst case scenario, you can close your account and they will be forced to send you the check for the balance.

Yes 3 times this year in March and April. 2 times to original credit cards, and 1 time a check mailed to me.

Damn. Just heard back from Assurant and they adjusted my offer to $0 due to "Equipment Mismatch". When I selected my trade in device, I selected "Moto G 5G" and "128gb" storage, entered the IMEI, and was offered $5 trade in credit + $700 promotion. But I am guessing what I chose on the website was probably a different variant/model in their system than what I had. I just emailed Assurant so hopefully they will re-evaluate. I did this deal last year for the S25 and went smoothly. Let's hope for the best. Here's the email below if anyone is curious or runs into the same problem I did.

"We've received your device and, upon inspection, have adjusted the offer. Please accept or decline the offer before 5/17/2026. See below for details and next steps.

Device and Offer Details
Make: Motorola
Model: XT2417D Moto G 5G 2024 128GB Green - TracFone
IMEI: xxxxxxxx
Trade-In Credit: $0.00
Your trade-in credit was adjusted for the following reason(s):
Equipment Mismatch
What's next?

Click here to take action on your adjusted offer. You'll also find details about the adjusted offer including device condition, photos and other information. Remember to accept or decline the offer before 5/17/2026.

If you decline the adjusted offer, we'll mail your device back to you. If you don't take action before 5/17/2026, the device will be processed at the Revalued Offer. *If your device is assessed at $0 or you decline the adjusted offer, you will not be eligible for any Promotional Credit."

Have them create a ticket to get the credit refunded to your credit card. Just did it today. Had absolutely no problems from the chat rep.

I thought it was 64GB from Walmart, not 128?

I believe it was your fault. You were playing with fire. It cost only $30 from Walmart; so why you sent in the phone that was not even listed in the system. In the system it clearly said Motorola G 5G 2022 or 2025 or 2026, not 2024. Good luck. I just don't understand why made it so complicated. Like the other dude sent in the broken phone and expected them to approve. I gave up.

Trade-in online is very risky. The risky thing is if they deny the trade-in; then you end up holding a phone that you paid almost twice the reasonable price of the phone. For example: Without that 1 week super discount, we were paying $974 for a base S26 phone before the $700 promotion. An open box S26 only cost max $600 on eBay. If they deny the trade-in device, there is no chance to return S26 because normally it takes them more than 14 days to process the trade-in, so the 14 days return window will pass. Anyway I hope you get $700 promotion; otherwise return S26. If they don't allow to return, then fight that to the end because I believe it is unfair to consumer on the 14 days return window.

I just received my final 2 approval emails from Assurant. Total is $1410 for both trade-ins. So I am done for 12 trade-ins using Motorola G 5G 2025 phones. Life is good....

Thank you all of the inputs, another rep just created a ticket for credit refunded to my credit card. Not sure how much time it will take but seems one step closer Smilie

I had the same problem with 2 Moto G 2024 from Cricket. Online you can only choose 2022 Model, not 2024. After Useless back and forward with many Agents and their supervisors, They agreed to let me return the 2 phones ( past the 14 day ) and was charged $50 restocking fee because I opened the Box.
Also, Do not accept the $0 valuation regardless of what the Reps tell you, your phone is a goner. If you end up rejecting it, they mail you back the phone.

I sent my trade-in, and the UPS tracking shows it was delivered on 4/27. However, the trade-in site still says I need to send it, and I haven't received any email updates. Is anyone else experiencing this?
