It works better if you dilute the oil with gasoline.

HVLP guns need diluting, airless sprayers do not. 10% is the rule of thumb (either water or thinners).

Its really not that complicated. The sprayer actually comes with a cup for you to test the viscosity of the diluited paint. Even easier; fill the container with 75% paint and add some water until the container is 90% full. Do a spray test to determine if you need a little more paint or a little more water.
