I tried these wheels and the metal housing around them is very sharp. Stabs your feet if you accidently step back when standing up.
I returned them and got the double rollerblade type wheels, which im super happy with.
I do not suggest using the single wheel rollerblade wheels on hard surfaces, they can put divots in your floor because all the weight rests on a small area.

Many office chairs come with 5 wheels. Does yours not?

Anyone know the difference with these wheels vs the rollerblade style vs the original crappy wheels? Rollerblade are super smooth, but sometimes TOO easy to move. Original are too difficult to move and are not smooth at all.

Someone on SD mentioned that having two wheels lets you change direction easier esp on carpet due to more surface area on the wheel.

Another advantage of two wheels is that it puts much less twisting stress on the five point chair base.

These only have 2" wheels versus the 3" for the single wheel version. So these are the same size as the ones that came on my chair. I use my chair on berber carpet so in my mind I would want taller wheels.

They're less prone to put dents in LVP and hardwood flooring than single wheels.

I would still use a mat under them, but it's not required like it is with rollerblade wheels.

Did you get 2" double rollerblade wheels? Or larger? Also... I didn't even know single wheels put my wood floors at risk. Reps to you and everyone above who previously responded. Thank you!

Thanks for the heads up about that metal housing. I ended up getting these dual rubber casters instead since they were all time low of $10. Amazon says frequently returned. I assume becuase they didn't fit their chairs because there are no 1 & 2 star reviews for them.

It's generally the profile of the wheel that causes this, so rollerblade wheels will always be a concern.

Having two in tandem might actually be worse depending on how they're spaced.

If you don't want to wreck your floors, get a mat.
