No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

I just got the S26 ultra at the store. I traded in a iPhone 13, which provides 105 dollars for me. I paid 94 dollars (1299-400-700-105) + 117 dollars taxes OTD. I don't why the taxes is so high since the trade-in did at the store and the remaining value is around 100 dollars. The staff have tried the walmart moto g 2025. It's ok to get the 700$ promotion and i still need to paid 117 dollar taxes.
This depends on your state. Here in TX, doing that same "pay in full" transaction in store would only result in about $8 sales tax, as we pay tax on the post-discount price. But many states pay on the pre-discount price.

Sounds like they processed it as a "pay monthly" agreement, which is incorrect. Should have been processed as a "pay in full", meaning the entire balance (after trade-in) is paid for at point-of-sale. That is, of course, unless you want to lock in with Spectrum for the next 36 months to get all of the device credits. How much did you pay at the register?
About $85 , which is the tax on full retail price of the device. Does Spectrum have a return policy? If yes, can I return and buy again?

Yes, with a $50 restocking fee. In this case, it's not that you want to return the phone... the transaction just needs to be processed correctly. I would call customer service and get some guidance. Or ask the store if they can reverse and correct it.

I'm trying to trade in my S26 for an S26 Ultra online, and I can see the trade-in credit on the checkout page as well. Is Spectrum allowing trade-ins for the S26?

Device payment و$1499.9 Device Promotion -$400.00
Trade-In GALAXY S26 5G, 256GB Trade-In Value($380.00) + Spectrum Promotion($700.00)

I would go to a store since if there is any issue (like not eligible for $700 trade-in credit) you would know upfront.

Got this today in Charlotte NC in store. They charged the sales tax on $899 which was $94. Still a good deal.

That's great. Any chance you or anyone asked about the 512gb? If they have to order it, does that affect this deal?
Went to store in Kissimmee Florida, no 512gb were available, however I was offered to ship it home but then I would be charge in store full price, ship trade in after device is received, so I decided not to do it and the lady assisting me was not very helpful and stated that the credit will be 36 months however I know it does not apply but I did not completed the purchase. As I think for it to work like this they have to accept trade in store instead of shipping it to assurance

I tried two stores and the taxes are calculated on the full amount of 899 and the trading value is not getting deducted for tax calculation how come you're lower tax? They even talked to the manager and no go. If you can share your receipt screenshot scratching private information that will be great thank you

I think that's the point. I don't have to go to the store in person indeed.

If you got the email receipt, it would have something like "Taxes are based on the full price of your equipment in City-Name, State"
Thx. That's what I got.

Just came from Spectrum Noho West. At first said no S26u in stock and that I can buy it there, and they'll mail me S26u, and I do the return process via mail. I said I might as well just do it all online and started to walk away. Then says they might have something in stock (they work by commission) and "found" a s26u. Starts the process.. gave them the moto g 2025 from Walmart... tells me the out of pocket with taxes is like $156. I'm thinking it should be a little over $300 something if it took the $700 trade in + $400 discount + taxes but charged me $156. I said sure! but then saw on the receipt that the remaining difference is spread out the 3 years. I said.. umm.. nope. Need to pay the whole thing now, please. Proceeds to tell me that the only way to get both the trade-in credit and $400 off is through spreading the remaining payments in three years. I said nope.. refund me what I paid. Give me my Moto G 2025 back and I'll buy it online instead. I remember he was mumbling the whole time while processing in the trade-in.. like scanning the QR.. using a mirror to take pics of the w/ the moto G's camera etc. That's when I figured out the whole commission thing, that they'd rather say they don't have stock, get commission to sell it to you by doing the order through the store, hoping you'd just send in the trade-in phone so they don't have to do a trade-in at the store. I was there for more than an hour. Hoping this doesn't ruin me trying to do it online since they punched in the IMEI of the Moto G as a trade in. I might just stick w/ my S24u if nothing works out. Props to others where it worked in-store.
