No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

My local store was not matching the $400 off $1299. I think my guy was lying because if he was true, 1299-700-5 (my trade-in)=594+tx. But the total was $362 AFTER TAX which I declined. How do they math???

I just got the S26 ultra at the store. I traded in a iPhone 13, which provides 105 dollars for me. I paid 94 dollars (1299-400-700-105) + 117 dollars taxes OTD. I don't why the taxes is so high since the trade-in did at the store and the remaining value is around 100 dollars. The staff have tried the walmart moto g 2025. It's ok to get the 700$ promotion and i still need to paid 117 dollar taxes.

I'm confused were you also able to trade in the Walmart moto G g2025 or did you just trade in iphone? The last display point in CA someone said it didn't work or they refused to take it as trade in. I wanted to do this tmw but didn't want to buy the phone and have it rejected.

Got this today in Charlotte NC in store. They charged the sales tax on $899 which was $94. Still a good deal.
That actually looks to be tax on the 1299.99 price. I'm in CA so I feel the pain too. TX and other states that charge tax on post-discount & post-trade price have it so nice.

I stopped by a Spectrum store to ask about switching my home internet and possibly adding a mobile line to get the free S26+. The employees didn't seem interested in helping or explaining the offer. One of them mentioned the trade‑in requirement in a way that felt more like a warning than information, emphasizing that the phone had to be in "perfect condition" or I'd be responsible. They also said I'd have to mail the device in and wait for approval before the promotion would apply. At that point, I decided to leave.

Ahh, im so confused. Customer support said that 700 trade in will be credited back to the spectrum account only. But here so many people are telling that it was deducted from the mobile bill at the payment. Which one is true. Will they really deduct 899-700 trade in from the final bill? Can someone please share their invoice personally ?

Got the deal and it went rather smooth. Got lucky that the rep knew wassup but I also read the whole thread and I was equipped with the right words.
Paid in full. Had to pay taxes on MSRP price instead of discount but at least they waived the activation fees.

Samsung A15 that came from Mint Mobile. They did the whole mirror test too. It was painfully slow but that's the A15 for ya.

I have the same question. As per spectrum the below criteria needs to be fulfilled to unlock. Your device must be active on the Spectrum network for at least 60 calendar days
