No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Yes, I specifically asked Spectrum Store Rep and he confirmed that I can get it unlocked after 60 days.
Thanks for your reply but I think you missed the context of the person I responded.

So going back to store after couple of days to upgrade and trade in S26+ (that you bought via this deal) to S26 ultra won't work to get another discount? I read through the comments and only one person said they were able to do it.

what's limit for number of lines? If I "upgraded" recently for S26, can I add a new line (or two) and get +700 for trade in?
Not sure about limit, but I did it three times and there were no issues.

Does previous years trade ins also affect your allowed limitation? My s26 to s26u trade in didnt yield $700 discount. Manager said I can see previous trade ins too. I did 5 trade in for S24. He didnt directly say anything but I felt like he wss indirectly hinting.

Today for another line the store manager mentioned they got instructions to to do only 36 months.. No instant discount.. Are there any stores still applying instant trade in discount?

Correct. To save $ if your intent is to get it unlocked and cancel the line, get the lowest plan which is $20 (by Gig).

That's not how it worked before - in previous years Spectrum actually refunded the sales tax on the trade-in portion after the credit was applied. Did that policy change recently?

I have 2 phones eligible for trade in, but just one line. Can we get one, finish the transaction, and then get another after some time with the second trade-in for the same line?
Nobody really knows. You should be able to. So far it has for most but not all. Up to the rep that is helping you and what the system says when they put the information in. So far it has worked for most, not all. Things seem to be constantly changing. This deal ends on Tuesday and phones are selling out quickly. Give it a try or open a second line.
For everybody asking about opening a second line. The cheapest is the $20 by the gig. You also have to pay a $20 activation fee that they will not waive. They only waive fees on free lines. Spectrum prorates the second line so all billing dates match. So you may have to pay a partial month and two full months. They do not prorate when you cancel a line so it will be $20 activation. $40-$60 to get the line unlocked. You may be able to move the phone to the free line and unlock. Again, works for some and not for all. Let's just hope they don't change the 60 day unlock policy which is a very generous policy.

The printed terms have said that on all deals for years. If they are not allowing it now, then it is done. If the employee go through the process and put in pay in full and the discount is there, it is still working. They may not be willing to try anymore or have been told not to.
