No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Maybe S26+ to S26U by saying you changed your mind and want to upgrade to s26U or trade in because you want the pen/privacy mode. Then again saying that might just flag it to them because they will think one per line promo. I can't imagine anyone allowing S26U for S26U unless they really don't gaf even if it works. I do plan on trading in for another S26+ for sure but I'm worried about the promo date saying it's ending 04/21/2026 and Spectrum being Spectrum, nobody has got a clue when it's actually ending because of how inconsistent and the lack of transparency. The staff were telling me last year and this year that they typically inform them like the evening before so it's really last minute. Must be why there are a decent chunk of stores that don't even know the promo changed.
How do you plan to do another trade on the same line? Keep you new S26+ on the line and trade in a cheap phone for another S26+. Do you move your S26+ off the line first to a different phone? Ran into problems at TO store trying to do another trade in for a 26+ or 26U on the same line. Last resort is the online by 4/21 but I am also worried about mailing in the trade and the trade not being processed before the 14 day return window closes.

Anyone tried trading s26+ for an ultra in store, with a new line?
Yes, dissociated s26+ from its line by swapping phone and traded it in on new line.

So you mean s26+ to ultra trade still works, and you get the full $700 + $400 credits? And you got your s26+ recently with the $700 trade in credits? Was it done in store?

Yes and yes. On new lines only. Can't do it on the same line like last year.

Can someone confirm if trade in promotion is only once per line each year? I did a trade in promotion few months ago for a pixel 9 pro but I still see the additional 700 trade in promotion when I try it online.

I probably personally plan on opening another line and trading for an s26+ with one of my old phones. From then I'll check if it still allows me to trade in the s26+ on that line or swap to the line that is letting me. If a store gives me issues, I will try through online. Kind of willing to gamble the $130-150 that I'm gonna have to pay. If I get lazy/promo runs out, I'll just sit with the s26+ for another trade in next year.

So I need some advice I went into the store today with a Moto g 2025 and they only carry the 256 GB s26 ultra. At first they were trying to tell me that you don't get both the $400 and the $700 but then she called her manager and confirmed that you do get both. I said that I wanted the 512 GB but in order to do that they would have to have it shipped to me and then I would have to ship the phone into them. But the weird thing is that they charged me $168 today of which $133 was tax that would mean they charged me tax on the full $1,499 without taking the $400 off. She said and the manager was on speaker phone that once they got my trade-in phone shipped into them everything would be sorted out and that it would be split over 36 months but that after two billing cycles I could just call in and pay it all off. So I guess I'm wondering is it worth the risk of having them ship me the 512 GB and shipping my Moto g 5G 2025 into them and hoping that they sort everything out price wise or is it smarter just to do everything in store and just go with the 256 GB? The other weird thing is that the Moto g 5G 2025 is not on the list for Verizon but if you click other it is on the list but since it's a new phone when they boot it up it says that it's Verizon and she even wanted to check the camera which we couldn't do because I don't have it activated but she was willing to forego that.
I did go to the store twice, looking for the 512gb version, but no store has it around orlando FL, therefore I decided for the s26 ultra 256gb as there is no deal if you ship the device home trying to get the 512 gb, because you will pay full tax, so I traded a Moto G stylus 5 2023 for $5, and pay full in the store and the total was $233.xx, tax was about $38.5 so you save a lot vs shiping a device to your house there would be no benefit on doing it that way.

I doubted a lot before deciding to buy the 256gb version but it is worth it to do it, even for future trades, there is no other deal like this since the launch to the market not even in samsung.

Plus I was eligible for a free line.

No issues with the deal at the mid-city LA store. It took forever to complete the tests because the phone I traded in was a slow piece of junk.

I didn't even have to add a line because I have one year free with spectrum internet. The employee let me activate the phone using the existing line. VERY SLICK DEAL.

I was able to trade my ultra (from original promo ) for another Ultra, and got about $261 back in credits , now refunded back to my card. I then traded my moto stylus for s26+ and later when I tried trading this new s26+ for an ultra in store, the $700 credit disappeared at final checkout page. The rep showed me on her computer. FYI I was trying that on existing line which previously got the $700 credit.

After that, several store visits resulted into employees flat out denying such trades without even trying

Since you mentioned it works on new line, I'll dissociate the s26+ from the lines and try trading for an ultra at a store tomorrow.

Thanks for confirming

i have one question and that is anyone cancelled the internet service and kept the mobile service and had no trouble with the unlocking after 61 days?
also I wanted to add to the group to see what i did.
didn't have spectrum internet.
1.went to spectrum store. told them i wanted to open up a new internet so i can get the mobile service.
2. trade in your old phone (go through series of tests) and purchase the phone at full value - trade in value
3. sign up for mobile service (get 1 year free if you are getting a new line)
4. you can cancel the internet after a month but you have to pay 10 dollars per month for mobile service if you cancel the internet service.
I am up to this part now i play the waiting game.
from now on is what i read from this and previous deal page
5. wait for email from Assurant that your trade in has been accepted and 700 + whatever value of your phone has been deposited to your account as credit (i read usually two weeks but please comment on how long it took you)
6. call customer service at (833) 224-6603 and ask for that credit as a refund to cc or debit card.
7. wait 61 days and unlock your phone and cancel mobile service.
I will have to take the same route it seems. Would you let me know if they'd let you purchase the phone along with the internet? Doesn't the internet have to be active?

I did this deal in TX but I hit some issues:
1-Bought a Verizon Prepaid Moto-G Phone from Family Dollar because it was on sale ($20). Big mistake. Verizon had done something so you cannot pass the "activation" screen. So I had to pay one month cheapest service ($38.xx). So trade-in costed me $58. My own phone (Moto G Stylus 2025) is worth around $150 on ebay, so I guess I should still feel okay.
2-Weirdly the taxes in TX is calculated as if there is no $400 discount. Why?? Are we in California? Taxes is calculated on $590 (1300-710 tradein) instead of $190 (1300-400-710). There is also $20 activation fee. Out the door, I paid $258.XX.
Other than that, everything went smoothly. No one insisted on 36 months payment plan. I asked if unlock possible before 60 days (if I prepay those 60 days) and the guy said no.
Some people here say that they got a cheapest prepaid from Walmart and took it to the Spectrum as-is. I don't know how this worked. The guy did like 10 minutes of testing on the phone. Impossible on an unactivated phone which only shows "Activate Now" screen.
