No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

I will have to take the same route it seems. Would you let me know if they'd let you purchase the phone along with the internet? Doesn't the internet have to be active?
You're overcomplicating it. Simply sign up for both internet and mobile at the same time. You'll receive one year free phone service with the internet. Use that service to activate the phone and keep it active for at least 60 days.

$325 because my trade-in was a mere $5 and tax was like $130. Still an amazing deal. At mint mobile on black friday, I had to pay $350 for a base s25 plus for one year of service around $25/mo. I cant believe spectrum has been running this at least 2 years now.

You did all those trades on same line?
yes, all that on the same line, and the last attempt in store to trade s26+ for an Ultra had the $700 credit disappear at final checkout. So, did not proceed.

I have 3 lines in my account, and so far I have gotten via multiple trades (used 2 S25+, 1 S25, multiple Moto Stylus) 3 Ultra, 3 S26+, 1 S26 base, and 1 iphone 17e, all using the 3 lines. From these, I traded S26 base for iphone 17e, and 1 Ultra for another Ultra to get excess credit back. I still have 2 new unused S26+, which I'm hoping to trade for Ultra, with no success so far.

Recommendation: Don't trade an S26 series for another S26 series.
The regular deal is already really good and works every year. Trying to push for something extra might not work, and could end up hurting the deal for everyone later.

I did go to the store twice, looking for the 512gb version, but no store has it around orlando FL, therefore I decided for the s26 ultra 256gb as there is no deal if you ship the device home trying to get the 512 gb, because you will pay full tax, so I traded a Moto G stylus 5 2023 for $5, and pay full in the store and the total was $233.xx, tax was about $38.5 so you save a lot vs shiping a device to your house there would be no benefit on doing it that way. I doubted a lot before deciding to buy the 256gb version but it is worth it to do it, even for future trades, there is no other deal like this since the launch to the market not even in samsung. Plus I was eligible for a free line.
Exactly she actually got her manager on the phone and he told me that no stores carry the 512 it can only be ordered online and then I called online and they explained that you pay the tax on the full 1499 and that you can either wait for the credits to hit the $700 the account and pay it off or you can pay the full amount and when the $700 credit hits the account they can refund it to your card but it sounds like too much could go wrong and you're paying a lot more in taxes so I had them cancel it and I think I'm going to do what you did and just get the 256 in the store.

I did this deal in TX but I hit some issues:1-Bought a Verizon Prepaid Moto-G Phone from Family Dollar because it was on sale ($20). Big mistake. Verizon had done something so you cannot pass the "activation" screen. So I had to pay one month cheapest service ($38.xx). So trade-in costed me $58. My own phone (Moto G Stylus 2025) is worth around $150 on ebay, so I guess I should still feel okay.2-Weirdly the taxes in TX is calculated as if there is no $400 discount. Why?? Are we in California? Taxes is calculated on $590 (1300-710 tradein) instead of $190 (1300-400-710). There is also $20 activation fee. Out the door, I paid $258.XX.Other than that, everything went smoothly. No one insisted on 36 months payment plan. I asked if unlock possible before 60 days (if I prepay those 60 days) and the guy said no.Some people here say that they got a cheapest prepaid from Walmart and took it to the Spectrum as-is. I don't know how this worked. The guy did like 10 minutes of testing on the phone. Impossible on an unactivated phone which only shows "Activate Now" screen.
I had the same problem I ordered the Verizon one on Amazon and I opened it in the car when they asked me for the phone and they need to scan something a QR code with the camera but you can't get past the activation screen but I convinced her that I told her I literally just opened it and you can see nothing is wrong with it and she figured out a way to bypass the test but a word of caution to those getting the Verizon phone.

If you live in an area where there are other affordable Internet service providers, contact spectrum retention and ask for price match. I live in LA and have never paid more than $40 per month for 300mbps+ Internet through spectrum.

Got fraud alert telling reps I have to order online. Happened on my fourth upgrade yesterday (Friday) and it was told to come back to the store (Saturday). I attempted to upgrade, same denial. Then I tried to open up new lines went all the way through the process only to get the fraud alert again.
Is Spectrum over for me? I'm so sad.
I don't have any experience with this since it's my first spectrum deal

Can I do 2 trade-in for 2 separate lines at the same time? I have internet but no phone lines with Spectrum(had 2 lines 6 months ago before switching to Visible). Now, I am thinking to go into store and ask them for 2 lines hoping 1 could be free for the year and one could be paid(by the gig plan). Can I buy 1 s26+ and 1 ultra? Either in the same transaction or in 2 but at the same time and on the same account? TIA
