No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Any non Walmart recommendations on good phones that work and where? It seems like a Samsung a15 tracfone for $50 on Amazon might work. I see so many different models for the moto g I'm concerned I might get the wrong year. I see moto g power 2024 at Best Buy for about $100 but that seems like that year isn't on the list. But other years are on the list.

Why over complicating it?
Get the Moto G 2025 that had been proven to work (and cheapest option) and get the deal.
It this one here:

Instruct Spectrum that it's listed under "Other" carrier from their trade-in. Test the trade-in on Spectrum website so you're prepared.

Not body asked for it but would like to share one info. Spectrum introduced post purchase tradein offer as well. Basically that offer will allow us to provide the trade in device details once the new ultra is activated. Helps not worry about what cheap device I need to buy before the offer ends. But again since it is new that has its on risk as well. Unfortunately I am doing that now because the agent who help in ordering my phone missed to apply trade in and I ended up having post purchase trade in.

They call online trading in post paid trade in because it's not instant like in store should be. You still have to tell them what device you are trading in and the IMEI before you finish the transaction but have 30 days to send in the trade in device. Do you have to mail your trade in device? Have you or the rep now added your device as a trade in? Would be very wary and make sure they have the information for your trade in device attached to hits transaction. You might be better off canceling this transaction and starting again. Don't think the instore rep can cancel but if you call customer service they can. Happened to me once, called when I was in the store, the rep on the phone was great and I started a new transaction that worked as it should. Good luck!

So need a help here. I have 3 lines and got 3 s25. Can I get three more on the same 3 lines by trading in 3 cheap phones from Walmart. If yes I will end up with 6 s25, how unlocking would work for 6 phones on 3 lines?

I believe you'll see the $700 on the trade in email. mine's the same way, it'll have 700 on the check out page, then no 700 on the order confirmation email, but trade in email has the 700.

yes, all that on the same line, and the last attempt in store to trade s26+ for an Ultra had the $700 credit disappear at final checkout. So, did not proceed.

I have 3 lines in my account, and so far I have gotten via multiple trades (used 2 S25+, 1 S25, multiple Moto Stylus) 3 Ultra, 3 S26+, 1 S26 base, and 1 iphone 17e, all using the 3 lines. From these, I traded S26 base for iphone 17e, and 1 Ultra for another Ultra to get excess credit back. I still have 2 new unused S26+, which I'm hoping to trade for Ultra, with no success so far.
My guess is they blacklisted all of their own Spectrum S26 and S26+ IMEIs to prevent trade in, but they didn't blacklist their S26U from trade in since most ppl don't bother trading it in for something else. In past years, most ppl traded up their S26 to S26+ and S26+ to S26U and that's what they are trying to prevent this year.

no they did not, I'm trading in s26 for others. I guess that's why that person is having the 700 removed then.

Whether you can get it or not is YMMV. Some did and didnt. I didn't... you should try yourself in store

Regarding, how to unlock all the phones if you happen to get them, you have to move Sim back to old phones once you hit 60 days. Once you managed to unlock first batch of phones, switch your sim to new matches.

Word of caution: the CSC (customization software) for this particular model will likely be CHA (Spectrum). At least in case of S24 Ultra, this particular CSC didn't play well with voicemail for other carriers (even though the phone was technically unlocked). Might be a non-issue for s26 but better be safe than sorry.
Tmobile flashed my phone randomly from spectrum to tmobile, I normally had to do this manually in the past.
