No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Placed my S26 Ultra order yesterday and got the tracking info today; delivery is set for tomorrow.
However, the trade-in link in my Spectrum email is broken. It gives an error saying the 'pass-in identifier does not exist.' Is anyone else experiencing this?
Yes i got error and it was not working earlier today after the email came out, i ordered 2 days ago if that helps.. trade in email came in today.... but yea they said same thing, wait 24 hours to make sure then can open a ticket backend...

Went in store today & opened up new home internet for $40/mo for 500 mb, then added 1 free phone line for S26 Ultra with trade in, then added 2nd phone line for $20/mo for the S26+. Both paid in full. Could not add a 3rd phone line/trade in, told system blocked it. Manager tried and tried but couldnt push through. Told me to come back in a few hours or tomorrow, said maybe fraud protection. This is a brand new account for me with Spectrum, all legit, no phone churning. I even tried a different credit card. Can I add a 3rd line for my son instore tomorrow, anyone have similar?

Yes I bought phone on 18th, tried yesterday and today to buy another and constantly locked out to purchase phone in store. When ahead with buying online. Were you able to purchase again in store after the ban?

I spoke with Spectrum, and they told me they don't refund the $700 as a lump sum. Instead, they apply it as a credit toward the monthly bill over 36 months.
Would you please advise how I can receive the $700 as a one-time refund? When I ordered the phone from Spectrum, I understood from the promotion that this amount would be given back, but now I'm being told it's only applied as bill credits over 36 months. I'd appreciate clarification or any possible solution.

Got 3x s26 ultra today from nyc. It was the same store i went yesterday, they were making up lies like my phone is not eligible for trade in, my account is passed due, then said since i paid for the past due today the system wouldn't allow me to do the trade in. Then she asked what happened yo the 3 s25 that i got last year? Finally, was nice to her. I think she was just lazy. Trade it 3 locked straight talk phone. First trade in A17 on the free line for $230 including tax. Then trade in moto g power 2025 for the $20/line total was $264, finally said they are out of the ultra. I had to ask like 20 times and she said let me ask my manager. She said we have 1 left but its for another customer, we can give it to you if you get the $30 unlimited line. I was like ok thats fine. Came home and changed it to the $20 plan on the app. Got 3 s26u for $760 here in nyc. I also did 3 last year on the same account

From what I read, Samsung generally offers money back to keep a device and not return it, not just the Ultra. More money for the Ultra because it costs more.
How are people getting money from Samsung if the phone was purchased from Spectrum? TIA

Im trying to do the deal again, but I need to move some existing lines from my other carrier to make it happen. Anyone have cheap options for an unlocked phone to use temporarily?

The people who are getting people back from Samsung are the people who bought from Samsung.

You could try opening the third phone line online and then go into the store and have them do a trade on the new line in store. If it doesn't work in store you can use that new line to order online.
