No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

There have been many reported issues mainly related to the display. The new privacy display feature results is reduced brightness causing eye irritation and strain as reported by many users.
I don't need or use that silly gimmick so it doesn't bother me in any way.

Placed my S26 Ultra order yesterday and got the tracking info today; delivery is set for tomorrow.
However, the trade-in link in my Spectrum email is broken. It gives an error saying the 'pass-in identifier does not exist.' Is anyone else experiencing this?

If I am paying upfront in store no monthly payments, but opening 2 new lines. Do they need to do credit check? Mine is frozen/locked, so dont want that to be a bottleneck.

Did you use the same locked phone for this deal and could you let me know which SoCal store you went to.
I didn't do this deal because I live in KS and there's no Spectrum service at my location. But I've traded-in locked phones to Google Fi and Best Buy.

I got same error. Called cs, was told to wait 24-48 hours. We'll see. Also charged tax on full price, as if discount did not apply. Way different than last year. FL

I'm in CA. In store, I paid $188 after tax (trade in iphone 16e) for the S26 Ultra. Everything has been paid in full and upfront. If I unlock the phone after 60 days and port out, is there going to be charge back for the $400 promo discount ?

The concept is the same with this promo. Btw Spectrum internet is super cheap if you know how to work the system a little bit (zip code can also play a part.) I literally have free Spectrum internet and mobile.
how, i used to do the promotion for like 30$ a month, free 1 year mobile. but free mobile ended, and 30 /month ended and now its expensive for internet

Has anyone that has been "locked" or "banned" from purchasing more phones in store able to call the "Spectrum Fraud Department" to lift it and be free to purchase more?

They don't seem to understand the concept of overcharging on sales tax I sent this in to them. Texas Tax Code Section 151.007(c)(5), the value of a trade-in accepted as partial consideration at the exact time of sale is explicitly excluded from the taxable 'sales price' it is not legally classified as a post sale payment credit when done in store. Furthermore, if the $400 promotion is a retailer discount rather than a third-party manufacturer rebate, Section 151.007(c)(1) dictates that it also reduces the taxable base. Please escalate this directly to your tax and compliance department. Assessing tax on the gross $1,299.99 price during an in-store, simultaneous trade-in transaction constitutes an overcollection of Texas sales tax
