No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Not sure if this has affected anyone else but their online system seems to be glitching. After payment, my receipts/order status/emails don't show any evidence of the additional $700 trade in promos. Seems to have just disappeared on 2 separate orders.
Called and chatted with customer service and they don't have my trade-ins on record. They created a ticket so we'll see.
I've read this happening a few times with people trying Spectrum S26 series to spectrum S26 series trade in purchases online. You have to screen record these questionable purchases and then pray you get the right rep to have even the slightest chance of a positive outcome. Not recommended for the faint of heart. Good luck to you all!

The latter worked for few people in the past. But it's risky and involves praying to get the right support member.

Was able to do a walmart motorola phone to Ultra for $236 in Florida. Only real PIA the first store didn't offer appointments so I went down there. Waited 45 minutes for my turn just for them to say they were out of stock. Associate was nice enough to reach out to the next closest store and verify they had it.

Other than the wasted time not bad at all. Wife's phone upgraded successfully. Now I'll just need a deal when the next fold comes out;
So the tax is cheaper in-store vs online in Florida. Shits $91 online

Has anyone here traded in an S25 Ultra that was fully paid through last year's Spectrum promo for the S26 Ultra?
I just got hit with a $400 charge reversal. Billing is saying I didn't meet the 36-month requirement from the original promo, so they took back the $400 credit.
I'm confused because the phone when I purchased I paid in full when I traded it in and by that time, the promo was $700 only. Has anyone experienced this or successfully disputed it?
Sounds like you have had the phone for less than 2 weeks so you can still return it though you would have to pay $50 restocking fee. Something doesn't make sense. Many people, including myself, traded in fully paid off phones from last year with no issues. More details would be helpful. Did you trade it in before April 14th? In store or online? Were you a new customer if bought before April 14th? Since you did the Ultra 25 last year you are probably not a new customer, but you could have left and returned. Hope it works out for you.

Do they charge a restocking fee even if the device is unopened?

So, I just came back from a local Spectrum store, was able to get the S26U without any issues. I traded in a brand new Straight Talk Moto 5G 2025 purchased at Walmart locally for $29.99, the only catch was the so-called "mirror" test. The phone went though all the tests OK until we got to the mirror. It kept failing over and over again, I think the rep must have done it 25 times under different positions, lighting, angles, etc. Somehow finally it got through, no idea why it was so hard to get it done. The phone was literally brand new with zero usage, the rep knew and believed that, but didn't know any way to bypass the test (as some others here said they were able to do).

Final cost was like this:
Device Payment Plan - Paid in Full $1,299.99
$701.00 trade-in credit/promo value for Motorola G 5G 2025 -$701
$400 off -$400
Unlimited $40.00/line/mo Next Bill Cycle
Service Discount -$40.00/Mo Next Bill Cycle
One time activation charge $20.00
Activation Charge Waiver -$20.00
New Order Subtotal* $198.99
California E-Waste Recycling Fee $4.00
State And Local Sales Tax $113.75
Applicable Tax Subtotal $117.75
New Order Subtotal $198.99
Applicable Tax Subtotal $117.75 (thanks to CA and the outrageous taxes here)

Grand Total $316.74
Cost of Moto G 2025 $32.65 (tax included)
Final Cost of the entire deal: $349.39

Still a great deal, maybe slightly less so than some people that are luckier to reside in a lower tax state.

By the way, if anyone here in So Cal needs to know which Spectrum store has the S26U in stock and who to talk to to make sure this deal goes through without any headaches or attitude by Spectrum staff, PM me and I'll send you to the right place. There's still a few days left to get in on this, and the store I went to has plenty in stock right now (I think she said something like 25 of them in two different colors).
Isnt the Moto G 2025 available on Walmart locked on Straight Talk ? How were you able to trade in a locked phone ?

For any planning to get this deal or already got it.. What do you think of the user reported issues regarding the display of this phone. Samsung reportedly refund customers $250 to keep this phone and not return it.

From what I read, Samsung generally offers money back to keep a device and not return it, not just the Ultra. More money for the Ultra because it costs more.

It depends on the deal. Some deals will accept locked phones for trade-in.

There have been many reported issues mainly related to the display. The new privacy display feature results is reduced brightness causing eye irritation and strain as reported by many users.

Yes, it was locked. Do they care if it's locked? No. Simple as that. As long as it powers up and passed the tests, it's accepted.
