No. $400 off the top. S26 Ultra is $899 already (not $1299). Get a cheap prepaid phone (I have a Galaxy A03s), they'll give me $5 + $700 promo credit = $705. My total will end up being $194 + tax. Pay in full. There's no way I would give up my S25 Ultra in this case. It's worth more selling on the private market.
I did this a month ago and got an S26 the same way. I'll do the S26 Ultra tomorrow on the same line.
I do in-store, though. Sales tax is applied differently (since your trade-in is evaluated and applied right away) as opposed to doing it online and waiting for the promo credit to hit.

No. Pay the cost of the phone at checkout, send in your trade-in and you'll get the FULL value applied to your account. You can call/chat and have that credit applied as a refund to your credit card.
If you're paying in full, there is nothing involving "3 years" at all. It's paid.

Yes! And it's MUCH better. At least in TX and many other states, you make out a lot better because you only pay sales tax on the amount AFTER your trade-in is applied.
If you do it online, you pay the FULL sales tax of the device and the credit is applied later, no sales tax refunded.
I will literally save something like $95 doing it in-store rather than online.

Any chance of this coming back or similar on another phone? I just missed it by a day
If it's any consolation one place I went to was out of stock and the other wouldn't let me get it since I did the earlier s26 deal. I even offered to open a new line but they said no. I know it's not true but I figured I'd let it go and get ready for the next deal.

unlikely... they usually have a deal once per year when device comes out for about a month or two... check back when fold releases but likely need to wait for S27

Dang nicely done. How many lines did you have to get for all of those? And did your friends go in with you to the store, or they gave you access to the account (but they need to present ID)? What's your unlock plan and what you gonna do with all them phones lol?
Added total of 10 lines. 3 were just upgrades as all of us had free line for a year from spectrum. 5 lines were added to my own account. I know people were saying multiple purchase on same line, but didn't wanna risk it and wanted to give some commissions to the guy who helped me by opening lines lol. One of the friends went with me. She didn't have Driver's license , and the rep told we cannot buy in storeunless we have the valid DL. So he advised to add me as a authorised user so I used I my id and socials. For the other guy, I knew the drill, he was at work, just told him to add me as authorised user and I went to the store and completed the purchase. He didn't have to be there. My id worked.

Surprised the system didnt flag the additional lines...I was adding 2 new lines to my own account and got flagged. Didn't get anywhere with phone CS since they kept saying there are no flags on the account for fraud so it should work in store. Finally just ended up adding the lines online and shipped out the trade in phones. Would've loved to just get it all done in store but oh well.

I did upgrade in store yesterday (2 S26 Ultras), and I got the weirdest call today.

Heavy Indian accented guy, telling me that the phone sent to me (arrived yesterday via FedEx) was a refurbished device and that I needed to send the phone back today and they would ship out the correct one Monday. I told him I would not send anything back until I got the new phones and asked what address they had on file for me and they promptly hung up. I called Spectrum CS and was informed that this was a known scam.

I am not sure how they even knew I did the upgrades but they did know I received them via FedEx, so maybe it's something on their side. Anyway, just warning you all.

Does anyone know if the $700 trade in can be applied to a different phone within the 14 day return window? Picked up the S26 on the 13th but mom can't adjust to Android and wants an iphone instead. Phone CS rep said she can return the S26 instore, pay $50 restocking fee & she will be refunded the $200 + tax and the $700 can apply to a new iphone. Her trade in was a Moto G 5G. I do not think this is correct, the $700 trade in for specifically for S26 series, I thought.

I suggested she keep the S26 till unlock and use old iphone, rep saying she cant go back to her iphone 8 which was just active on her line a few days ago. We can shop later for an iphone. Trade in the S26 is $380.

Such a mess, note to everyone, let your siblings handle senior parents upgrades, lol.

tried with the online chat, but they refuse to honor that promotion, and try to charge me $50 for restocking, the final result is the fee waived, anyway no luck this year.

How would that work when there was never any promotion for $700 off of an iPhone? Guy definitely does not know what he's talking about.

Nice, didn't know about the AU technique. So you had your own account and were AU on other accts... but when they pull up your info with your phone number, which account do they see? Also, you still need access to their primary number on file to get the OTP, right (for phone activation)?

I had the same experience it seems to be some type of inside job where someone is feeding the new order info to scammers. You can disregard them.
