This vacuum replaced my previous gen (2023) unit after a plastic piece broke in the main head. The battery in these are not nearly as good as previous versions, but suction is probably the same. The laser-light vacuum head is awesome though and we'd buy this again because of it. While I don't use it as frequently as the main all floors unit, it gets plenty of work. You can see hairs with it - it's crazy. Good bye play-doh crumbs, good bye pet hair... hello wood floors for about 5 minutes before we revisit crumbs and hair.

Was surprised how much I like the shark, extra battery and headlight and works great. Why does Dyson have so much refurb on all their products.

Shark has tons of refurb too if you look online. They just go about selling it differently. As you can see, promoting refurb too often lowers perceived quality of your product.

Anyone have issues with their refurb Dyson? I can't stand mine. Can't use the turbo mode for more than 10 seconds without it saying that the filter needs cleaning. This has happened since I pulled it out of the box with a sparkling clean filter. This makes me think it was the reason why the previous owner sent it back and Dyson probably just cleaned it and turned it back around. This isn't the first time I've been burnt by refurbs and I'm starting to think it's time to abandon them altogether.

Not sure this is the reason, but Consumer Reports rates Dyson rechargeable vacuums very poorly in terms of reliability. So maybe due to that, a lot end up in the refurb market.

Refurb prices for Dyson are still overpriced crap. Electronics parts burn out for powered beaters. Used to be somewhat revolutionary, but now there are too many better and cheaper options.

Killer deal. Bought a refurbished V7 years ago and it's still doing it's job. Bought a refurbished V11 Torque Drive+ in December for $200 as we're replacing our floors yet haven't been able to test it out because we're at a pause because we needed to replace much of out subfloor which cost us.
I'd been waiting on a deal for this but for that light, but the V11 has good suction reviews.

Buying refurbished Dyson is a real gamble. You don't really know how old the refurb is and the battery seems to die pretty quickly if you do long cleaning sessions.

Send it back. I have two dyson refurb. V9 almost 8 years old and a v11 almost 4 yo. No issues. They will send you a new one. I buy so much refurb save a ton. Even if one went bad I'm still in aggregate making out but many come with generous warranty also now.

I still love my Dyson, but I did get a bad refurb about a year ago. It has the dreaded issue where it cuts off randomly while you're vacuuming and restarts. It's not the battery. It's evidently the capacitors on the circuit board that have degraded and need to be replaced. It is well documented on the V15. I'm going to try to repair it myself to see if I can salvage this vacuum.

I second this. I bought a refurbished V10 directly from Dyson about 5 years ago. Dyson gives you a 6-month warranty on their refurbished products. So I ran mine through its paces for the first six months to make sure everything was OK. Five years later, it's still running strong.
