I really want one of these for a family device charging station, but so many of them have no safety certification whatsoever.

Nice catch! Confirmed per item specs. Based on that, I'd go for something the like the following with 2 65W and 3 30W USB-C and 5 20W USB-A: https://a.co/d/0hPqdzw3 or even better, this one: https://a.co/d/02cj11Au

It has no electrical safety certifications at all, so roll the dice if you like.

i've seen several such items on the market. in addition to them functioning as charging docks, i feel it would be nice if they could also function as a hub for usb A/usb C devices. do such dual use devices exist in the market without going up to a full blown docking station (i.e. something that can be used with a PC)?

I used a few of these around the house, they come in handy when you have multiple USB devices.

the capped 20W per socket kills it for me, but it'd probably be good for like the kids' devices overnight charging.

Stay away from this one guys. They only have less than 2 products after doing some research. Once it burns your house down and Amazon complains, they'll disappear and rebadge their products and sell it on amazon again.

Someone should open up and see what inside looks like of there are any safety measures. It might surprise us. On flip side, for family Charing station, there are tons of options with outlets and USB ports like power strips or ones you can plug directly to outlet from reputable sellers. Do you really need 10 ports?
