These used to be really good, thick as the paper towels. As of last 3 years they have become paper thin, almost like store brand napkins.

Exactly. Qualified for the S&S discount, you save a marginal amount on an already low-margin item (paper products take up a LOT of space/volume for the relative low returns they bring). And it's shipped to your door.
