Do you mean it's a bad quality speaker? Or do you mean it's damaged or something? Thanks

Outside of the speaker quality not being good how do you like the chromebook otherwise? Does it seem snappy? I'm using a 17" ASUS CXB170K that looks like it has an Intel Celeron N4500 processor, 4GB Ram and 64GB eMMC. Not sure how the speakers on my 17" would compare to the speakers on this one? Maybe you just got a bad one? Can anyone else who owns this Acer Vero 514 comment on the speakers? Also does anyone know how long this model will be getting updates?

Honestly I've been completely happy with mine and still am for what I use it for. Within the last week or so my wifi speed is only right around 20Mbps (both down and up) whereas I normally get at least 500Mbps with it. All my other devices on 5G are fine as is my overall internet and wifi in general. Not sure what's going on here but I came across a post where someone mentioned to check to see if the wifi antenna came lose somehow. Looks like I'll have to crack open the case and see if maybe that's the cause. I've tried everything else and can't figure it out.

Best dea! Spec i3-1215U, 8GB in Chrome OS, 14", 300 nits IPS. As a 20 year hardware engineer knowledge, this $160 notebook must satisfy 98% of non-gamer home computer usages. (2% is for Turbo Tax CD installation or something else). Above all, it must be 'New'. Almost all Acer itself cerf. chromebooks were actually New. Ignore the speaker quality comment, maybe first time Chromebook user. Nobody expects a macbook or Surface quality sound. Howevery, every Chromebook sounds 'Ok' level, although not premium.

If you're going to get a cheap laptop from eBay, you may be better off looking on Facebook marketplace. I got an i3 11 Gen laptop with 20GB DDR4 ram and 256GB nvme for $80 with a bag, local, no fees to pay. I don't live in a metro area. Those in metro areas will find more.

Info is sparse but the press release type article implies only the touchscreen variant gets 300 nits and 100% sRGB.

Anyone got this yet and can comment on the display? I assume it's 250 nits 45% typical low end screen.
