Disable automatic renewal BEFORE you enter the code on MS. That way, they will offer you an extra 3 months if you enable automatic renewal.
Once enabled, you can disable it right away.
You can also upgrade to premium at 50% off right now, this brings the price for premium below the regular renewal price ($99 instead of $129 for annual billing; $10 instead of $19 for the first month on monthly billing).
I chose the monthly billing. They billed me $10 immediately, added 1 month to my next renewal date and converted my existing subscription to premium until my next renewal (August 2027).

I believe the newegg renewal codes stack. So, you could buy multiple and extend your regular membership for 2 or 3 years and then use the $10 offer to convert the entire period into premium...

In the past when a "personal" code is redeemed against a "family" MS 365 plan, you get around 9 months. I think that holds true even today. So, for 9 months MS 365 + 1-year Nord VPN = $60. This will come out to be $80 for the combo ($20 less than this post).
