The 1000W version failed the suite of tests LTT Labs does https://www.lttlabs.com/products/...000g-pcie5. Those are considered torture tests and not reflective of everyday use, but there are other PSUs that pass. I would opt for one of those.

I don't care what LTT puts out whatsoever. I'll stick to the SPL

Ordered the 1000 watt version from Woot for $100 but returned after comments about coil whine scared me away. There are few things that annoy me more than coil whine when it comes to computer tech. Not sure if the 1200watt is as susceptible, but something to be aware of.

Looks like this only comes with a 90 warranty as well if you care about that

A Tier Power Supply I would have bought it if I didn't just buy the SAMA P1200.

If its new you get full manufacture warranty starting by the day it was manufactured. All you have to do is register with MSI. I registered an open Box / New Motherboard recently still have over 2 years on it.

FYI this only comes with one 8-pin PCIe cable, so if you have an older GPU that doesn't use the 12V-2x6 connectors, you'll need to request or purchase an adapter from MSI

There are stories for both good and bad.

This evaluation by Cybernetics.com states the power supply's capabilities through testing and it tests at a "Platinum" level (it is rated as Gold at MSI's website [msi.com]):
https://www.cybenetics.com/evalua...psus/3023/
There is one website that states there is an issue with this power supply and some AMD / Intel GPUs:
https://overclock3d.net/news/powe...r-supplies/
So, depending on your system, while this power supply has nice stats, it may not support the GPU you are using.
