Coming back to the laptop in this offer, the CPU and 32GB RAM combination should make this a solid productivity platform through the entire lifecycle of Windows 11, fulfilling the generic "is this good for a student?"
RAM is soldered, but generous for maintaining long-term compatibility with future Windows updates.
The screen is basic but includes touch support.
The display/laptop size is perfect for mobility/portability (though some users do find sub-14" screens small).
The model is new and premium enough that charging is supported via USB-C.
One key feature you may want to confirm with this seller is whether the keyboard included with your purchase is the backlit option (this model was available with or without a backlit keyboard).
Personally, as someone daily driving a 5450 and 5320 these days, the biggest gripe to be had is that the USB-C ports are located on a single side of the device. Comparing to a laptop with a traditional barrel charger this doesn't mean much, since the expectation is that power always comes in from a specific side. However, I have other laptops where USB-C availability allows me to charge from either side of the laptop... a niggling convenience feature that can really improve the quality of life with the device long term, not unlike a backlit keyboard.
Good luck!

This Dell Latitude 5330 2 in 1 stands out as a compact productivity laptop, with the i7 1265U, 32GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD making it feel well suited for travel, light work, and long Windows 11 use. The backlit keyboard is confirmed, and the touch screen plus under 3 pound weight add to the appeal. The main cautions are refurbishing quality and wear, since the listing may mean only basic cleaning and testing, and the Thunderbolt ports are worth checking because they can be the first failure point. A strong spec sheet, but condition details matter.

It was wiped down with a damp rag and given a basic power test. At most. I've had devices that were DOA from sellers, and they were "refurbished". Sorry, but they clearly weren't.
And your idea of "refurbished" is not, as you put it "gunked, crusty, etc." Your words. So literally they hit it was a damp rag! The definition of a spit n' shine refurbishment. 🤣
If I were in the market for a new laptop I would definitely pick this up. Great for travel, light work, or a college student.
Good luck!

My interpretation of that is you're going to get a laptop that has been cleaned off (i.e. no sticky grossness, screen windexed, etc) and that's about it. It was likely wiped by an IT department before being sold as part of a bulk lot, and the seller booted it to make sure it booted up. Highly doubt they did any actual testing on things like battery life, looking for faulty memory/hard drive, etc. Expect heavily-worn keyboard and track pad, possibly dead pixels, and a battery with unknown level of charging ability left.
"Refurbished" can mean just about anything, from what I described above, to someone who went to the trouble of replacing old parts, etc. The description is important, and I'd say the "refurbishment" you can expect on this one, based on the description, is probably pretty minimal.
Not expecting mint condition, but hope it's not too scraped up. Replacement battery is pretty inexpensive if needed.
Will be a nice upgrade from my $60 Microcenter laptop.
