you don't have to get the executive membership in order to get the $45 cash card. Just make sure you sign up for auto renewal which can be cancelled after you get your cash card via email.
Is the Digital Costco Shop Card a physical card? Or only for use online? Can it be used in the store?

My Costco membership expired 19 months ago. So if I want to join as a "New" member & get this gift card do I have to join from scratch with a different email? Or do I simply Re-New my old account? I still am able to login etc but the membership long since expired. Ive waited a long time so I don't want to screw it up on a technicality.

I hope to get the $45 gift card in 2 weeks...
EDIT: May 6 - I just rec'd the e-mail about the $45 gift card!
Will probably cancel subscription to the membership auto-renew soon... & probably go back to using $10 gift cards at the end of my membership...while it's nice to have, I don't shop at Costco (often) enough to justify the $65/yr 'fee'.
