Just for comparison, unless you value Trend net as a brand name you can get twice the ports for the about the same price under names like GigaPlus, NicGiga, Hasivo, and others. They are popular in the homelab community. I have a GigaPlus and it's been great.

what would you recommend for a managed switch? wanting to get into homelabbing and need it to fit on a 10inch rack

There's a GigaPlus 10Gig switch going around that has been reported to die off ports after 6 months

I'm no brandname shill, but keep in mind that cheap network hardware has cheap components inside. I picked up a VIMIN 2.5gb switch that developed coil whine and started crashing my network every few minutes within a year of owning it. I cracked it open and found 3 bulging caps ๐Ÿ’€ FWIW I now own this model trendnet and it's been fine; I haven't even thought about it, which is really all I want out of my networking gear
