Okay so I just finished putting this thing together last night, and I dont like it. Honestly, I've gotten other cat trees around this price before and they were WAY better quality and easier to put together. The two "boxes" / undercover areas you see for the cats dont have rigid sides, they're fabric and you have to get four posts in each of them to make them boxes. Lining up the holes was already a nightmare, because the fabric doesn't line up with the holes, but then trying to get the first two poles in to give structure, and line up the screws / holes / hold the "box" up and open, etc is a balancing act that definitely made me question my life a couple of times. The last few cat trees I've had these are solid structures, not basically cat teepees.

It's... not great for big cats. It's awkward, and hard to climb, it doesn't make sense when you look at it, how a cat gets to the top. The ledges are smaller than they look and my cat was not confident on it at all and he LOVES climbing cat trees. I made it slightly better by taking the raised platform to the top left of the picture off, and then I screwed the round carpeted piece straight in where the pole was, making that part of the tree wider and easier for them to jump on. Neither of the hidey holes is big enough for the chunkier one, and he's the one who loved to hide.

My honest reaction? My cats were thrilled to have a cat tree back (the wore their other one down to death and had been without for two months) but this aint the one. It's been together less than 24 hours and I hate it, and I'm already looking for a better one to replace it.

Your experience may vary, since cats are very different creatures, but this isn't the tree for me or my cats.

Thanks. I had a feeling it had those fabric boxes.

Those posts at the very top are too long and narrow that they will eventually break off the base plates they screw onto. If you have cats that like to run at full speed before jumping at far distances to reach the highest level, I'd look elsewhere.
