Get one On Us with any trade on any rate plan. Among all the recent gen boring iPhone Samsung and Pixel phones with no unique design or features, this one seem like an interesting backup phone with its attempt of a unique fake E-Ink screen (LCD) with optimized matte screen surface and polarization for eye comfort.

This won't be for everyone but is an interesting device if you have lines that doesn't have EIP plans considering the promo allows you to trade in broken devices.
Same IP68 water resistance as flagships, the MediaTek 7300 is old but hard to complain at this MSRP for a carrier custom device. At 4xA78 + 4xA55 on TSMC N4, this is still a decently efficient chip for regular use, same CPU design as MediaTek 8200, 8100 just different clock speeds, CPU performance between Tensor G3 and G2 but more efficient thanks to TSMC N4. Oh and it has fingerprint sensor in power button.
Got this on T-Mobile One plan, traded in a cracked broken iPhone 4S. Do it at Sam's Club or Costco to get the extra $75 gift card and waived $35 fee.
* Also forgot to mention another good feature is this thing supports Dual Physical SIM or MicroSD expansion too. Second SIM slot is either SIM2 or MicroSD card. And the phone still supports eSIM as well, but you are limited to two Active SIM simultaneously so either 2 Physical SIM or 1 Physical 1 eSIM.
Someone also brought up T-Mobile satellite, I haven't tried this but T-Mobile website lists it as compatible with satellite messaging? YMMV

The TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro stands out as a budget phone built for reading, with a 6.9 inch 120Hz matte LCD that cuts glare and feels closer to e paper than a glossy screen. The etched glass finish gets praise for manga and e reader use, and the phone also brings IP68 water resistance, dual physical SIM support, eSIM, and microSD expansion. The main caveats are that it is not a flagship replacement, T Mobile satellite messaging appears limited to messaging only, and the 40 day carrier lock can delay adding a second non T Mobile SIM. Support through March 2028 also feels short for the price.
The NXTPAPER display can reduce glare because it uses a matte etched glass surface.
The phone supports dual physical SIMs plus eSIM, which helps with flexible line setups.
The trade-in promo can waive the $35 device connection fee when purchased through the Costco T-Mobile process.
Costco upgrades can include a $100 Costco digital shop card after the monthly payment plan upgrade.
Free-line eligibility and trade-in requirements can be inconsistent, including IMEI retrieval issues that can cause rejections.
T-Mobile satellite messaging may not work on this phone, even though T-Mobile lists compatibility.
The NXTPAPER branding is actually an LCD matte screen rather than true e-paper.
Promo credits may stop if the device is paid off early, which can affect the 24-month bill-credit plan.

That thing Is slow and clunky and mine came with Android version (11)now on (12), they only gave it 2 additional security updates in the second year. At least the cheapest Moto's get more android updates than that. Heck I took a Moto edge (2022) in the same year on a similar EIP free ( after broken phone trade) offer and that at least got up to android 15 update, and a security patch end of last year.

For the TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro trade you should be looking for any device which has a SIM tray with a legible IMEI and otherwise ZERO trade-in value. The specifics of the trade-in offer recommend only using trade in devices which are either ancient, abandoned and/or broken.
"Trade in any phone in any condition. You must be able to retrieve the IMEI for trade in phone to be accepted."
Good luck!
