Get one On Us with any trade on any rate plan. Among all the recent gen boring iPhone Samsung and Pixel phones with no unique design or features, this one seem like an interesting backup phone with its attempt of a unique fake E-Ink screen (LCD) with optimized matte screen surface and polarization for eye comfort.
https://www.t-mobile.com/cell-pho...per-70-pro

This won't be for everyone but is an interesting device if you have lines that doesn't have EIP plans considering the promo allows you to trade in broken devices.

Same IP68 water resistance as flagships, the MediaTek 7300 is old but hard to complain at this MSRP for a carrier custom device. At 4xA78 + 4xA55 on TSMC N4, this is still a decently efficient chip for regular use, same CPU design as MediaTek 8200, 8100 just different clock speeds, CPU performance between Tensor G3 and G2 but more efficient thanks to TSMC N4. Oh and it has fingerprint sensor in power button.

Got this on T-Mobile One plan, traded in a cracked broken iPhone 4S. Do it at Sam's Club or Costco to get the extra $75 gift card and waived $35 fee.

* Also forgot to mention another good feature is this thing supports Dual Physical SIM or MicroSD expansion too. Second SIM slot is either SIM2 or MicroSD card. And the phone still supports eSIM as well, but you are limited to two Active SIM simultaneously so either 2 Physical SIM or 1 Physical 1 eSIM.

Someone also brought up T-Mobile satellite, I haven't tried this but T-Mobile website lists it as compatible with satellite messaging? YMMV

Community Reviews

The TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro stands out as a budget phone built for reading, with a 6.9 inch 120Hz matte LCD that cuts glare and feels closer to e paper than a glossy screen. The etched glass finish gets praise for manga and e reader use, and the phone also brings IP68 water resistance, dual physical SIM support, eSIM, and microSD expansion. The main caveats are that it is not a flagship replacement, T Mobile satellite messaging appears limited to messaging only, and the 40 day carrier lock can delay adding a second non T Mobile SIM. Support through March 2028 also feels short for the price.

I have an old Samsung note 10 and Samsung A71 that have two spare lines. Is it worth trading in one of those two phones for this?

This requires to be an existing t-mobile customer? And be on a service plan for at least the next 24 months?

Pretty much. If you pay off the device, you won't get future credits

Heads up in that this phone won't work with T-Mo satellite. I've been using the SAT service for a few months (was beta tester last year) and it's amazing to get a signal in the boonies. It's an auto switch so no need to dive into the menu. Cheap too with a $10. add for T-Mo customers and $15 for non customers. I also got the SAT signal 20 miles off shore in N Cal. Boat captain had the service too.

Does this phone have dual physical Sim slots? I thought TCL phones had them, but can't find it on Tmobile site.

I really wish these cheaper phones would get better support cycles. TCL's website lists that the phone will receive security updates until March 2028. I know it's a cheap phone ($200 originally), but, damn, that seems like a really short support cycle.

If you really want this phone then go ahead and trade in the a71 only. It's a lower priced mid-range phone so decent enough for this upgrade offer. However, I'd hold on to that Note 10 in case TMO comes out with an offer down the line where you should get $800 off a higher end phone for trading in that one, similar to the deal everyone jumped on for the pixel 10s in February.

I found an LG G7 buried in the drawer. I'll just trade that one for it.

where in the app do you see these?

When I click on "Manage" on lower right side, then scroll down to "People", I see all the phones under that section and it shows that way

I will say though, those lines with an EIP attached to them currently are indeed all free lines, so maybe that is why ( as someone mentioned above, maybe free lines only gets one EIP)

The paid lines I have been patiently waiting for iphone deals . . . . but that's few and far between for simple choice

I agree with you. I got mine from Metro yesterday. Should have waited for the T-Mobile promotion. It was activated via e-sim. Wasn't mentioned, but I like it. Want to read more. For that, it's ideal and doesn't need more than 3 years of updates.
