This random orbital sander is terrible. I bought it at this price last and returned it. The dust box is worthless and connecting it to a shop vac or dust extractor doesn't help much because the dust port is very same. The worst part of this sander is the lack of power. Even you apply minimum pressure, it will stop the sander from rotating. This sander get very good reviews, I don't know why. I watched a YouTube video from 731 woodworking in which he tested a number of 5 inch orbital sander and he experienced the same issues I did. Like me, he was extremely disappointed with sander given all the good reviews. Spend an extra $20 and get the variable speed Dewalt orbital sander. If you are on a tighter budget, get the Hercules variable speed orbital sander. The guy from 731 woodworking didn't like it very much, but I've used it and think it very good, especially when it goes on sale for $45. It has a dust port adapter that comes with the two most come shop vac hose size and the dust collection is excellent. Also don't cheap out on sand paper. 3M Extract is worth extra money and is the way to go.

On the contrary, this sander is fantastic. Worth every penny, especially at $60. Vibrations are minimal, it sands well, and the dust collection when using a vacuum is TOO good. It will suck your sander to the work piece. This is why dust extractors have a variable suction knob. I felt the dust collection with the dust box was adequate as well if you're in a pinch. I was coming from a Harbor Freight Bauer ROS and the Bosch is night and day different. If you are using proper technique you are never going to stall this sander. Run it full speed with no downward pressure on the sander. Let the sandpaper do the work. Sanding will always be miserable, and this sander made me realize it's worth it to spend money on making the experience less miserable. I will only buy Bosch or better (Festool, Mirka, 3M) from now on. You can occasionally find the Bosch GET75-6N (which is a big step up in performance) for sale on here as well.

Based on the other two comments - I don't have this sander. It might be a good buy but also maybe not. Flip a coin

Add another positive review for this sander. I used it for drywall sanding and it worked like a charm. I connected it to a normal vacuum (my shop vac was in storage and I was too lazy to run all the way there to get it just for this project) and it sucked up most of the drywall dust as well.

Not sure which one you've gotten, but 731 reviewed the single speed ROS10.
Most favorable reviews seem to point to the variable speed ROS20VSC instead.
OP is posting the variable speed ROS20VSC here.
Anyway, it is not showing up as $59 anymore... $89, SF bay area.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. The ROS20VSC is regarded as one of the best rated ROS, especially for dust collection. I've been using one almost daily for over 8 years and the only thing I've had to replace is the soft hook and loop pad because it was worn down and not holding sanding pads as good as it used to. I 3d printed an adapter to connect my shop vac to it to not have to empty the bag on it.
