I use an edger. I don't use it every time. I use it maybe once every 4 to 6 weeks or so. They give you a line that a trimmer just can't create especially in hard ground and up against concrete. I never use the attachment. I have a dedicated edger. It was just less of a hassle.

Get the power load version. I've had the manual and power load version- spend the extra $$ well worth it

Any idea if the head can be replaced? I bought a Husqvarna head for my Greenworks when the feed mechanism broke, works like a charm. Wondering if you could do the same swap with this Ego?

IMHO the edger attachment is the best tool that EGO sells. Where I live the jungle grass grows fast and in every direction. I can cut a fine edge along concrete at a walking pace, with few stops. I have a long driveway and a large back porch. I can edge the whole thing in about 7 minutes. It used to take me that long to get my Echo 2 stroke started and a good idle set!

The best part about this trimmer is the rapid load system for putting in more line. It still gets stuck sometimes, but that's for any trimmer. I find this one is less prone to it. With the battery and charger, this is a good deal.

In addition, it usually takes some WWE power-slam tap moves to get the line to come out.

Yes it can, I found lightly pushing on the bump feed really helps when restringing.
