This does mean that there will be gay relationships, whether or not you personally approve of them. They'll just…happen. I was amused that, so often, relationships happen in a VERY short period of time. This is likely to keep the game from having to track who's courting whom, yet it keeps track of couples and their children (whom you can also recruit as young adults).
The combat part of the game is turn based and success has percentage chances for each move made. It has multiplayer, and you will likely spend several evenings playing through a single campaign. You can carry characters between campaigns but be aware they won't stop aging and you'll usually lose them earlier than a fresh recruit.
We had a great time playing through several stories/campaigns!
