I think that's incorrect. Yes, the aldi website [aldi.us] lists those dimensions, but doing more research and it seems that's simply the size of the box that it comes in. The parts assemble to a 4'x2'x1'.
If you look at the photo that is shown on the aldi website, there's no way the ratio of 14"x12" is correct. That would result in a squareish bed.
This photo of the actual product in its box looks more accurate to a 14x12x4 inch box, and showing the assembled product that will be 4x2x1 feet.

Is the coffee ground used to raise the PH? like make it acidic?
As /u/soymilkmania mentioned, it's a great source of nitrogen. For me, I also use it as top dressing/soil amendment as I have horrible clay soil that's impossible to dig into or grow anything. So I just grab as much coffee grounds as I can (my local Starbucks and coffee places are more than happy to give me as much as I can take) and spread them on my soil. I did start with doing trenches first but I've just started to top dress directly. It composts very quickly and the smell seems to help some of the critters away too.
