This is really an apples or oranges situation. If you have 60 volt tools then yes you need this battery, if not then it's just a massive battery. There's really no performance advantage in 20 volt tools.

Yes. Dewalt says that it actually delivers more power than the 12ah Flexvolt without as much heat generating heat. This is the one to own.

For maximum power, yes. For longevity, the 12 Ah holds more energy and will run moderate-draw tools longer.

Think of "ah" (Amp-Hours) as capacity, determined by multiplying current (Amps) x time (Hours). So, a 9ah battery can (theoretically) deliver 9 Amps for 1 hour (or 4.5 Amps for 2 hours, 3 amps for 3 hours), etc. Higher provides longer run time but is also usually heavier.
