If you're ok with using a 20 lb tank, then do that. This deal is for people that don't always need 20 lbs of propane and would rather carry a 5 lb tank weighing 15 lbs vs 39 lbs for a full 20 lb tank.

These are great for hike in camping and also for propane torch (for those that do weed/grass/field burns)

You are paying for the convenience of the 5lb. Or you could buy 5 of the 1lb refillable tanks and pay about the same or a bit more. They do go on sale for around $10. And I am talking about the actual refillable 1lb tanks, not the green Coleman's that you can totally refill on your own but that isn't apples to apples here as they are not rated to be refilled and transported.

I just got two used tanks from some guy on Facebook marketplace for $20 (for both) and exchanged them for full tanks at Sam's club.

To paraphrase Clara Peller, "Where's the deal"? Others point out this seems to be the normal price and Amazon is again up to it's inflating the supposed regular price to get you to bite.

The people saying you own the tank are right, but my filling station checks the certified date stamp and if it's past 12 year they refuse to fill in my state.

Then it's off to walgreens to swap out for a new tank.

These provide more thermal mass and keep propane flowing better and get more BTUs to your device. My q2200 works meagerly on 1lb. But on 5-20lb tanks it's puta out a great flame. Those 1lbers get too cold too fast.
