Product Description:
  • LED display screen allows for easy temperature setting and reading in Fahrenheit, enhancing convenience to maintain perfect conditions, ensuring reliable and consistent hatch success with minimal effort need to buy an additional temperature hygrometer to monitor the incubator.
  • Automatic egg turning system, mimicking natural conditions (Optional automatic turning frequency: once every 60, 120, or 180 minutes). This improves hatch success by turning eggs at the right intervals and stopping three days before hatching to prevent over-turning.
  • External water filling system allows you to add water without opening the egg incubator, ensuring a stable humidity level throughout the incubation cycle, and improving the hatching success rate.
  • Built-in candling feature that allows you to check the embryos during the incubation process, helping you to monitor their development and identify any potential problems at each stage.

This 18 egg incubator is aimed at hatching fertilized eggs, with auto turning, temperature and humidity control, and a transparent dome for watching progress. It has been used successfully for chickens, quail, ostrich eggs, and even balut style eggs, and the larger capacity is handy for hobby batches. The main caution is that grocery store eggs usually will not hatch, especially if they have been washed or refrigerated, so fresh local fertilized eggs work better. Temperature setup also matters, with 99.5 degrees and a steady calibration check coming up often.

not sure why people think the eggs at grocery stores are fertilized eggs. They are not.

Where can I buy chick eggs online?
eBay... Check reviews, most folks have reasonable luck with shipped eggs.

I won a dozen hatching eggs in a raffle from a champion breeder and I failed completely. I'm blaming my thermometer, as it seems that is the most likely culprit. Another person who also won a dozen ended up with 10 hatching...

Can I use the eggs from grocery store?
Grocery store eggs are sterile. You need to get eggs from small private farms or individuals with home raised hens if you plan on hatching your own chicks.

Some people watch too many fake videos on YT and other social media platforms...

If eggs don't hatch at the same time, are you supposed to take birds out of the incubator as soon as they hatch, or remove them in batches daily is good enough?
you can take them out after they dry and are walking about. If you leave them in, sometimes they disturb or peck at the other hatching chicks.

Actually trader joes sells fertilized eggs, so technically you can buy eggs from the grocery store to hatch...
Are they refrigerated at Trader Joe's?
