The effective battery life / runtime is pretty bad. they don't recommend it for anything besides walking also.

Since I didn't know what the use case is, I read the reviews. It seems it's life changing for folks who are partially disabled and can walk but have difficulty.

I know at least 4 people who could benefit from using such a device. They are also using something similar in Ukraine to help with lifting.

Is this accurate? I didnt do research into the length for the battery but 9-11 miles seems decent:

The Hypershell X Carbon exoskeleton provides a battery range of approximately 9 to 11 miles (15–17.5 km) per charge under normal operating conditions. The system uses 72Wh, 5,000mAh batteries that take about 88–90 minutes to fully recharge via USB-C, with 50% charge achievable in 35 minutes.

I work in retail stocking—will this help me use my legs more instead of my back?

It might help little but it's not designed for heavy duty lifting
