Actually, I look at it as a way to use smaller drives in place of larger ones - so if you need 50TB but have 5 10TB drives, you can install the m all into 1 USB-C port. USB 3.2 Gen 1 - that means same speed as USB-A (5 Gbps)

Looks like the largest drive it supports is 20TB. Might be OK for me now but in 3-4 years when I swap to a bigger drive it might not. That is the weak link in these for my use case.
