I own both Birkenstocks (the real full grain leather version, not these cheaper PU Birko Flor kind) and these Project Cloud sandals in full grain leather. Had I known what I know now, I would have saved my money on the Birkenstock Arizona - Project Cloud are identical materials and build quality for 30% of the price.

I contacted Birkenstock through their website and they responded in like 5 minutes. They said this website is not an authorized reseller. So if anything's wrong with the sandals they won't help. However Birkenstock doesn't have a warranty/guarantee policy for their sandals anyway, at least in U.S., which is really disappointing so even if you did buy from an authorized store it would be left to Birkenstock's discretion if they would replace them after 30 days. I hear Birkenstock sandals are meant to be repaired down the line instead of replaced, especially if you have ones with leather straps because they supposedly can last decades.
They gave me a list of authorized reseller websites which is surprisingly short. Just three:

* Happy Feet - ​​http://www.happyfeet.com
* Complete Birkenstock - ​​http://www.completebirkenstock.com
So popular sites like amazon, walmart, costco, etc. are not authorized resellers and any claims won't be covered. Given how expensive their sandals can be it's upsetting there isn't even a 1 year warranty. The upside is their sandals are only made in Germany so the quality should be high.
