to anyone thinking about buying this - just keep in mind it's an old generation charger. it's usb-a output only and to charge the charger itself, it uses a usb-micro charger. heck, the item description even talks about charging an iphone xs phone which came out in 2018.

for the price, there are much better options out there. newer technology these days has physically smaller sized 20k mah chargers with updated usb-c ports and some even with a built in cable.

this ain't worth it.

Oof USB A output only. This is a dinosaur.

Judging by the Iphone XS/Galaxy S10 references in the description this model is at least 8 or 9 years old

I wish the USBC was a combined input/output.

Micro USB input is a deal killer for me, but I had been thinking this would be a good use for the recent $5 BB credit.

You can use them to power little LED lights and other accessories. This is my old Anker Astro E5.
Ordered on January 21, 2016
Anker Astro E5 16000mAh Compact Portable Charger (2nd Generation High Capacity External Battery Power Bank) with High-Quality Battery Cells and High-Speed Charging PowerIQ Technology
Also have a couple Anker Astro E4s 13000mAh from 2013. :-)

Keep in mind, being this old of tech and being clearance and unreturnable... it's likely the batteries are damn near shot right out of the box from calendar aging alone.

I'd just do a warranty claim as soon as I saw issues and get a replacement with something new. Worked for me before.

Good deal if you received a $5 or $10 free certificate recently. I just got a $10 so getting something like this for $3 is worth it for me. Most of my cables are USB A to whatever (lightning/C/etc).
Also- No reason to down vote every person who is okay with USB A. I know plenty of people who still prefer them because of cables they have.

Clearly an old model, and not just one year old. I'd worry about the life of the batteries inside, as this may be 4+ years old. Anker might be a good brand, but Imma pass on this.

Quote from Babolat :
In addition to no usb-c output, there are some bad reviews on the bb site.
In regards to the one-star review with the photograph complaining that the LiPo cell swelled and cracked the case and Anker wouldn't replace it since it was past the 18-month warranty, it's quite possible that it got discharged in storage and puffed up (alternatively, Anker may have set the charging cutoff threshold too high, and it gradually puffed up over time). I don't like it, and it's not very safe, but it's common enough that it even has a term - "spicy pillows".
